I have a few chapter ideas for your soviet empire story. However, I will not edit the maps. I honestly wouldn't know how.

So, could the USSR 1958 map series be considered a prequel to 1984 so to speak or is the Western World too sane to be considered a proto-Oceania?

That's an interesting thought, but I'm not that well read in 1984 so I couldn't say. However, considering your comments I might think it's not far off.

I have no copyright to this story as such, so you may write what you please as far as I am concerned. Please don't edit my maps though.Β

Hi there, you've seem to have put a lot of thought and research into your united Scandinavia map, so perhaps you could answer a question for me?

Do you have any idea why Denmark is not a German nation? Why is it's culture Scandinavian?

Hi Daniel I saw your comment I hope I donΒ΄t irritate you but I think I know the answer.
In ancient times there was a fluent transition between continental and northern Germanics. But then the peoples migration time in the 5th and 6th century changed it. From what we call now Denmark and Schleswig-Holstein, the Saxons, Jutes and especially Angles left their homeland and settled down in what we call now England.
Because they left, they left behind a language/ dialect gap in this area and the link between the tribes that later turn into Germand and the Danes was destroyed. And thatΒ΄s one of the biggest reasons, why they never developed a culture connected to Germany directly but to Scandinavia.
Another fun fact, after Prussia defeated Denmark in 1864, they asked Prussia 3 times if they may join them XD Prussia said no, so the other great powers wonΒ΄t fear a too mighty prussian state. Prussias goal was to unite Germany and not to annex Denmark.

Well, I guess its because the Danes are part of the same cultural area as the other Nordic nations, share ancestors with them and thus speak very similar languages. As a result they share both cultural and political history. Why it's not a German nation? Well, its just not a German nation quite simply... for the reasons aboce. They don't speak German and are not part of the German cultural area. I'm not sure If I understand your question fully, but there you go.
