Yes, I figured you were. It's nice to meet you again on DA. =3 How have you been liking this site? The community here can be very different from Facebook.

I'm hoping to get into more Madoka-related stuff as I go to later conventions. I was first introduced to it a little while back - around Otakon 2011, I think - but I didn't have time to get into your show because I was getting my first Master's degree.

I stayed interested in it because two of my best friends are huge fans, and finally had the chance to watch some around Otakon 2012 (when your creator, Gen Urobuchi, was a special guest at the 'con) and that's when I became a fan.

I'm still a newbie, though, so please bear with me.

I originally got on Deviant Art because I was doing a lot of space ship, technology, and costume designs for some fan fiction ideas I had for "Star Trek" a while back. It seemed like the most appropriate place to put them, and I also thought it wasn't fair to have an account and have nothing in it. ^_^;

I've been here for a few years now, and I agree, it's a pretty good site, but it has its problems. The layout isn't user friendly. The website takes a lot of computer power to run, so it lags on mobile devices like cell phones. And I've heard that sometimes the people on DA can be real jerks. I would tell you to be careful about that - but you're Kyoko Sakura. Nothing can get through your tough personality. ^_^

I hope you can have as much fun here as you do on Facebook, Kyoko. Puella Magi like you need a break sometimes. Have you been able to make any new friends here yet?

I think we all Facebook better, but Facebook definitely seems to be more geared for talking to each other and it's not as good for putting up art. I don't like posting a lot of the sketches I do on Facebook because I feel like doing it kind of clutters up my profile. 0_0

I'm glad you're making friends here, though! What made you decide to get a DA account as well as your Facebook one?

At least you can write as well as draw. I have been working on a lot of ideas for almost 12 years, but I have just never been able to get any of my "Star Trek" stuff written even though I've already plotted everything out, and I've even designed costumes and technology.

I even went to all the trouble of getting one of my costume designs made into a real outfit - this is the black uniform you see me wearing on Facebook and on my DA gallery. That was a huge pain, but it's very special to me because of that process... how many people get to wear one of their own designs? ))

Knowing you, I bet it didn't just involve a lot of convincing. Just how much cake and sweets did Mami-san have to promise you before you finally agreed, hmm? I hope you didn't get her to promise you a fresh cake every morning or something like that. I know essays, tests, grades - they're not your thing, but everybody else is there. You wouldn't want to be left home alone on the weekdays, would you? The only one left around is Kyuubey and knowing you, he'd probably be dead and roasting on a spit by the time the others got back from school. >_<

((Thank you! I actually started doing my "Star Trek" stuff a long time ago, back in 2002. I was trying to figure out how to make my Honors English portfolio more interesting and decided to do a sort of role play or fan fiction "theme" to it.

A model maker, Ms. April Welles, took a model of a ship from one of the old "Trek" movies and made a new ship out of it that she called the Starship Farrington, and put up an entry on a model building page with her model and what its backstory was. I took her ship, a computer game I was playing, me and my friends and pretty much bashed it together. That's how it all started.

So 12 years later, I now have Ms. Welles' official permission to use her ship as long as I give her credit for her work, and my story ideas have really kicked off to the point where I ended up making a "crack fic" version just so I could allow my characters to do crossovers and meet anime characters, and I went off and got two outfits I drew made into real clothes...

...and of course I can also use him to role-play with you guys. That was really cool, by the way. I got to have my character fight alongside two other characters that I have a lot of respect for, so that made my evening.

Anyway, the pictures I linked you to when I made my character's ship fire guns and torpedoes were pictures of a ship called Excelsior from the movies. My O/C's space ship is based on that one. But I changed the design because my story is set in a new universe. Here's what my O/C's ship looks like - and yes, I drew all of these. ^_^

And here is a better picture of the gun that my O/C was using. It was a Phaser pistol that he put extra parts on to turn it into a small rifle... I did make up my own settings on the gun, though, because I was trying to figure out how to use my O/C to help Kyoko and Sayaka.

Urk, Mami-san is scary when she finally decides to be serious and make threats, isn't she? It's like take it or leave it, all-or-nothing. Well, at least you finally made the right choice and decided to go. >_< Are you surviving so far? I don't think school is really all that bad. ^_^

((It's all right, I don't check DA as often as I would like to either. I just haven't had any time to draw anything new because medical school is keeping me so busy. All I do these days is pop on for a few minutes to see if anybody's left any messages for me, or if I decide I want to ask somebody for a commission. And thanks for the compliment. Drawing that ship was a huge pain - not just the drawing part, though - the ship is an original design so I had to think about how she would look, too. @_@))
