# About me
Currently living in Wallington, Surrey. My place backs out on what used to be the old Croydon Airport. The Battle of Britain Memorial is only a few minutes walk from here.Have been a aviation enthusiast from a very young age & up to 2010 had been to mainly airshows only but became interested in civil aircraft through a friend & been doing it ever since visiting mostly London Heathrow but soon to go to Gatwick Airport too.
Like getting pics of the newest liveries & newest airliners.
As my username says, I'm a avid Liverpool FC supporter since a very young age as the rest of the family supported them when I was growing up.

Well at least we got an New Year present from the Reds today with a 2-0 win over Hull City at Anfield & yet again Luis Suarez scored a delightful free-kick to secure the win. Looking forward to seeing that later tonight on MOTD.
So it's a good start to 2014 if only a day in! Hope this is a good omen for everything else this year on the football front & job front.

I've got sore ribs from all the laughing I was doing seeing how poor Man Utd were yesterday against Tottenham at Old Trafford on BT Sport! Β This was virtually the same Tottenham team (except Adebayor) which was stuffed by us
Since Fergie's gone, teams now don't fear going to Old Trafford anymore as that's 4 home defeats already this season. Let's hope that run continues!

Yeah it was surprising when I saw the scoreline! I think that it just shows how influential that Fergie was and how integral a manager can be to the team!

Your lucky if it's nice up north near you but sadly down here in the West Country, started nice & bright but soon clouded up & had a few heavy rain showers & even a hailstorm for 10 mins around midday.
But this area is still recovering from the deluge & battering it got on Monday. Most homes now do have there power back on around here but river's are still pretty high. We're expecting more problems tomorrow & Friday when the next large storm arrives!
Well I'm back in the London / Surrey area in time for the new year, so if the weather turns nice I maybe able to get to LHR to start Β my collection of 2014.

The camera I'm using is a Canon EOS600D. The lenses I mostly use with this camera are Canon 50-250mm lens for when I'm at LHR & for the airshows / high altitude pics, I use a Sigma 50-500mm lens. I use the auto focus function on both lenses too.
With regards to the high altitude shots, these are taken with my Sigma lens & then cropped with the help of Adobe Photoshop Elements software on my laptop to make them stand out more. Unfortunately, due to the weather sometimes the HA pics come out looking a little blurry & that's mostly due to the haze in the sky which makes it awkward at times for the camera to focus properly. Ideal conditions are a crisp cold clear sunny day (like January or February) & the HA pics come out MUCH better!
Hope that answers you question?

I'm glad that I've been able to help. I had to change my camera as it only worked with manual focus & it was a pain in the backside. Since this been much happier & better quality of pics with much better equipment.

By the way, shame about the result last night. Bet Moyes was loving it. I turned the radio off right after the final whistle.

He was very smug! I watched it last night on Sky & couldn't work out how he could be pleased with his team. They were rubbish. The best side didn't win. If only the final ball had been better & had Victor Moses not headed the ball straight at their keeper, we would have won 2 or 3-0 as United rarely threaten, hardly made Mignolet make a save & their defence was a little shaky. Β Just hope get a better result on Sunday at Sunderland, should just get to my parents place in time for that on Sky.

I am not surprised to hear he was smug! He is such an idiot. I'm surprised Man UTD took him on.
I kinda got that impression that LFC was the better side. A real shame we never made it back in the end as it would have been nice to have 2 wins over UTD already. I don't think Moyes will last long there, I predict a poor season for them.

LFC1976 In reply to captainflynn [2013-09-27 09:46:56 +0000 UTC]
Yes LFC were the better side, just let down by the final ball. Tells you what kind of game it was as the Man of the Match was a United defender! 2 defeats in a few days both totally avoidable. The embarrassing thing for United is that Southampton played miles better against us they did! If it wasn't for Simon Mignolet, the Saints could have scored 3 or 4.
United so far this season have bored me to death in that drab 0-0 draw against Chelsea, had to rely on a dodgy penalty against my local team (Crystal Palace) to take the lead & even with an extra player didn't create much, lost against us in the league when they had the ball for the entire 2nd half & STILL created next to nothing. Β
Now the United fans know how I felt this time last season. New manager plus new players in place & had few points after the first handful of games. United fans are just a load of spoilt brats who have had so much success & now their not doing well & their local rivals, Man.City are sticking it to them, they don't like it!Β

Yeah LFC has had 2 losses now which is a shame as they should have done better in both games clearly
It's nice to see Man UTD take a dip because they'll then see what real fans they have and they can also see what it's like when your team suffers a slump in performance over a few years. I think a lot will tell in time for them, whether they're a good team or just had to have Fergie in charge to win. I'm glad Man City are on the up in a way, just to stick it to utd.
