Okay. I've been focusing a lot on on figure drawing, most of which you can find on my thread on KYM. The past week i've had lots of free time in school so I decided to start bringing my laptop and tablet with me to practice digital art. I haven't really tried digital art up until now so I hope it will positively impact my rate of progress in artistic development. I recently submitted a few digital pieces. I'm also planning on at least minoring in art in college next year or taking any kind of professional drawing course.

It's a reference doll for sketching. I got one from WalMart for like 5 bucks. It really helps to give a visual reference when creating a new pose.

I got an art software that works with my tablets pressure sensitivity. Now i'll be practicing with Firealpaca. Got any advice for digital art?

had to google it. It looks like the layout is quite similar to photoshop. Take some time to get familiar with the interface of the program. Start small, don't try to make any masterpieces yet. I've found that practicing with things you don't actually care about makes good practice.
Maybe we can set up some sort of "draw off" where we'd pick a random theme or object and sketch it on our tablets. The goal would be to complete it quickly, rather than completely. That way, we could have fun while gaining good practice. Just an idea though.

The idea sounds neat. At the moment I'm trying to figure out how to properly put away the magic wand tool after I'm done with it because the only ways i've actually managed to get rid it makes the colors go all wonky.

I've been working 2 jobs 7 days a week with double shifts on some days. Needless to say, I've had absolutely zero free time. It was starting to depress me so I had to quit my second job yesterday. It'll suck not having a second pay check, but not having any time is worse. Hopefully my morale will improve now.

My Art teacher gave me a 9x12 Intuos 2 graphics tablet she never used that was given to her by different teacher. The tablet is missing it's stylus although my teacher and a few other people told me that I could get a stylus that should work at the dollar store. I'm not sure if the styluses (shown here:www.youtube.com/watch?v=5plnHK… would actually work since it seems they are meant for Ipads and smart phones.

Do you think that a drawing pad for digital art would be a worthwhile investment for me or should I stick with traditional art until I improve more? I saw that Amazon has some popular drawing pads for under $100.

I'm doing good. I've been practicing drawing parts of people for quite a while. I'm getting more pencils for christmas but cant really think of any other supplies I want. I've also posted some pictures to my gallery, tell me what you think of them.
