I notice you’re from Algeria. Never been there but I’ve heard a lot about it.
I've found that a lot of people here in the U.S. don't know much their own country,
much less anyone else's.
I post prayer updates about different countries. Part of the reason is to raise awareness
about what's going on in the rest of the world.
Recently I’ve started a personal initiative; if I notice someone on DA is from another
country, if I've done their country I let them know. It’s my way of letting them know
that others are thinking about their home.

It is bordered by Tunisia in the northeast, Libya in the east, Morocco in the west,
Western Sahara, Mauritania and Mali in the southwest and Niger in the southeast.
Algiers is the capital.
The population is about 36.3 million.

In terms of land area, Algeria is the largest country in Africa, and the tenth-largest
in the world.
80% of the country is coverd by the Sahara Desert.
Algeria was the birthplace of the theologian Augustine of Hippo. (354-430 A.D.)

HISTORY
In Antiquity, Algeria was known as Numidia and had relations with the Greeks, Carthaginians and Romans.
Arabs come to Algeria in the 8th century and introduced Islam.
In 751 A.D. numerous Berber dynasties emerged, including the Almoravids and the Fatimids.
Algeria became part of the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.
