LavaandMagma In reply to Onosaka-Yuha [2013-04-23 15:44:56 +0000 UTC]

haha, if that's ok, that would be fun ^^

i stayed there for a week, in the desert for three days and in several towns for four. people were very friendly there, but didn't like cameras, they think that you steal part of their soul when you take photographs.

hmm, interesting.
I'm not really an advocate of "theyougeneration" though. It's... stupid. They encourage young minds to become 'famous' not by helping world affairs progress or by pushing the boundaries of science, but by doing dumb shit ranging from hair styling to singing (trashy) songs. If people want to do that stuff in their spare time, cool, that's their business, but for it to be 'celebrated' to this degree is ludicrous.

But that's just a product of our disgustingly decadent society I guess. Celebrity culture is idiotic and a waste of time, and people [companies] who promote it disgust me.
Singing well or looking pretty is not an achievment worthy of the attention of billions of people.
Rebuilding an empoverished nation or resolving international conflicts is.
And yet look how much one job pays, and the other doesn't. Look how many people know about Justin Beiber, compared to the number of people who know about Kofi Annan.

oh...
what's your own better plan then?
well, i was hoping you can fully understand Chinese, so i can tell you my point of view clearly without making more misunderstanding .
i know what you mean and i respect that, but honestly, i don't absolutely agree with your thought :/

LavaandMagma In reply to Onosaka-Yuha [2013-04-28 11:16:10 +0000 UTC]

improve education. make the value of a job as a teacher more worthwhile and rewarding. turn schools and universities into an industry just as competitive and large-scale as music, media or electronics.
it's quite a simple plan, and it would be a self-fulfilling cycle.
problem is it no one wants to start. better education needs higher budget, higher budget means higher taxes... and no one wants to pay higher taxes. the poor can't afford them, and the rich dodge it or leave the country.

i wanna learn chinese, my father used mostly english and so i have much to learn

Onosaka-Yuha In reply to LavaandMagma [2013-04-28 13:16:14 +0000 UTC]

mhmm... many people has the same thought like yours actually, but even though there aren't any big changes yet doesn't mean no one wants to start.
better education...hmm, let's see...you know, here people think good education is not just improve the stuffs you mentioned, those are external. here our biggest problem of education is about the internal, like younger students are disrespecting their elders, they become more and more conceited cuz parents are spoiling their kids and children think themselves are smarter by getting the knowledge earlier and faster than the elders by media ... how are you gonna improve those without correcting children's behavior first?
and another thing is that, plz, try not to criticize people's work as "shit or junks", it's kinda let people think you're arrogant when you do that, haters have their own reason to dislike their stuffs, but i believe there are also good reasons why people like them! why not just learn to respect each others first before trying to do other big things?
so yes, we do have many problems in this generation, but the stuffs you mentioned is not that kind of big deal in my opinion.

(*sign* i tried my best to explained them in English....not arguing but sharing thoughts just saying)

LavaandMagma In reply to Onosaka-Yuha [2013-04-28 15:54:51 +0000 UTC]

ah, stupid, i made myself sound arrogant again.
i often over-simplify things when typing rather than talking.
>
i didn't mean no one wants to start, but i meant nothing is happening on a signficant scale. governments are pretty much powerless, even if they do want to improve things, because people's mentalities are extremely slow to change. emotions and misconceptions hamper people's ability to think logically and 'bad' politicians (read: greedy, self-centred and looking for easy life rather than progrees of the country) exploit them for votes.
>
education of internal [behaviours such as respect etc.] is something that will trickle down to the next generations naturally if schooling is properly evolved. education has a comparatively minor influence on society today, because popular culture has a much bigger share of people's attention.
parents are entitled to spoil their kids; it's a free world and they can raise them however they like. my point is, if all are better educated, most parents would be more careful to give their children a proper upbringing, as being spoilt is a big disadvantage that hampers them growing up and maturing.
>
music, artworks etc. are subjective and what people think of them is, ultimately, entirely arbitrary. my point is not that i think some songs or pictures are bad; my point is that i think it is bad that they exist at all when in our current world there are people suffering from conflict or famine. why isn't the entire society geared towards helping them? why are are countries split into enclaves; the rich stay in their little bubble of delusion and decadence while the poor just keep poorer?
it's not like drawing or songs is evil; it's wrong that huge companies and conglomorates have been formed to encourage them [drawing and music] to become a massive industry when such an enormous amount of manpower and dedication could be used to relieve much more urgent needs.
>
and that's pretty much it. i feel we've been split up into too many little sects, with politics and religion pulling people in all different directiosn and making people follow leaders blindly rather than thinking for themselves. 'cultural' things such as making pretty stuff should ideally wait until after we've sorted out basic human rights for people. sadly, we are not in a position to change anything - it's the people at the top who hold the power, and they have decided to be indifferent and continue shepherding men into a society that becomes ever-increasingly segregated, and this makes humanity weaker as a whole.

oh okay, i see, what you're saying is true and now i agree with that...
but umm i'm still don't really understand, though you may may think i'm hopeless or what ever you think of me... why do you wanna talk about this education thing when i posted a making helmet video to you? you never mentioned those even when i posted other similar videos to you before? i'm so curious about that because you're like suddenly become so ...(i don't know to say :/ )

exams and shit make me more of an asshole than usual

i like to avoid politics and religion normally, because most people are very... narrow-minded about such topics, and it just leads to pointless arguments.
i talked about this education thing because it was in my head at the time[on the topic of youtube in general], i know it wasn't really related to the helmet video you sent me though :/

and i don't think anything like that of you, don't be silly. you are awesome :3
