Yeah like in the beginning I recommend you do requests here on DA for a limited time just to get some artwork that you could use as examples for your commissions in the future! So to keep things neat and tidy you could mention your art status in your user ID information like you could list commissions, art trades, collabs and requests there and if they are open or not! Plus I recommend you create a journal entry for people to request art there instead of your main profile comments section! So basically for doing requests it's basically just drawing an image based off someone's character refs or descriptions! Now with commissions in the future you could use DA points or PayPal as the main payment methods as those are the most widely used here on DA!
