Well, I can't say that I agreed with Emily's assumption in bringing Trellis with us, he still has yet to prove to me that he is trustworthy. 
But I believe in Emily, and I have to put my trust in what she thinks is right.

In my opinion Trellis is troubled, he doesn't seem like the foulest of elves which I am grateful for, and in ways that I can't explain he has become quite the ally. 

I hope this answered that question.

#3: A lot of people have theories on why Max helped the elf king (well DID until book 5). Without breaking the forth wall,  what did you think cause Max to set Emily up?

In all honesty, I don't have a theory, Max obviously has something against the alliance, or perhaps there is another reason. I am not sure.
