I'm adventuring using your world maps and I noticed some of the passageways are 1000's of KM in length, this must mean that they are very wide, like 5 or 10 KM, am I right ?

Thanks! I'm mainly a hobbyist. Sometimes, on rare occasions, I'll make something for projects and friends, but other than that most of my work is of personal nature.

I personally only use Photoshop, though it's a rather expensive investment. Some people use GIMP, but I'll admit that I have no experience with that one. I suggest hopping over to www.cartographersguild.com , as they have a fair few threads regarding tips, tutorials, software etc.
