# About me

I’m Lexy, and I am a novelist, traditional artist, and a practitioner in the martial arts. I began drawing people four years ago, but beforehand I drew most everything else. I spend my days wasting my time, studying, being annoyed by my tortoises (they have impressive stamina), Tang-So-Do-ing, reading for absurd periods of time, writing novels, and occasionally I will draw portraits. I’m currently self-diagnosed with BOD: Book Obsession Disorder, so naturally I don’t get out much. Instead, I spend all of my money purchasing new books. It’s a crying shame.

My ambition on Deviant Art isn’t actually to post my own artwork: I prefer to browse the work of others. Hyperrealism, realism, manga, paintings, photographs, coffee-drawings… I like most everything.

I usually draw on Canson or Scratchmore if I’m not randomly doodling eyeballs over every available paper or paper-like surface. I use a lot of dark graphite, or very light graphite, from Derwent and/or Prismacolor. I am currently incapable of using colored drawing implements, and my medium is therefore graphite with white-charcoal highlights. I do not use black charcoal on anything but sketches.

Some of my favorite artists are Alphonse Mucha and Michelangelo.
