How have you been doing?

Oh, that's pretty neat!

I've been pretty sick. My health hasn't been it's best, and it seems to want to get worse.

We plan on moving out of this pos apartment. Hopefully, We'll be out soon. We've been having money issues, so everything has been difficult.

Sorry to keep popping in on your conversations with others
I saw your comments to marsmar, especially where he links to wikipedia. I bring that up because the climate moderator on Wiki was recently banned from the site, because he was altering climate-related pieces, over 5000 of them, to be pro-'man made' global warming. Hundreds of writers were blocked by him so they could not correct the changes he made to their works. I believe the Wiki staff froze those articles when they banned him, but left all the errors in that he wrote into them.
New work on climate science is showing major problems with greenhouse theory. That is something marsmar and others seem to wish would go away...
Anyway, sorry to bother you again.

LiensriiLovely In reply to Kajm [2011-06-08 09:38:31 +0000 UTC]

Oh it's not a problem at all. I don't mind a good discussion where I can find one
How is it known that changed those wikis? That's weird.
Actually, to be honest I can't remember which comment on Marsmar's page you're speaking of

But all in all it's so hard to find dependable information online now-a-days due to the fact that there's mostly no way of knowing where the information is coming from. I've linked to a couple of sites sometimes such as the EPA website and a online dictionary site but in truth it's the best I could do to find sound information. That's what makes it hard to prove a point in an online debate because there's no way of bringing in official documents, really.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Kajm In reply to LiensriiLovely [2011-06-08 09:48:12 +0000 UTC]

Ooops? I didn't intend to say marsmar did that! No, it was William Connally, a British Lord, who was a moderator on Wikipedia [link]

The conversation you had with him was in the devious comments section on his front page.

I did create an article which contains links to Skeptical sites in the author's comments [link]

Part of those links are to sites which cover the science itself, as in peer-reviewed papers on various aspects of the climate. That's probably as close as one can get to 'official' documents *g*
I agree there is quite an argument going on over what is actually happening; I happen to fall to the Skeptical side (I have a degree in Geology, myself, so I am fairly science-minded). People like marsmar, though, refuse to even acknowledge that there are quite a few scientists in the Skeptical camp. He would tell you it was politics and religious thinking that stands opposed to 'man-made' global warming.

And... I've got to get the lunches ready for work. Take care!

LiensriiLovely In reply to Kajm [2011-06-08 10:27:36 +0000 UTC]

Oh wow! That's pretty intense about William Connally. That's one of the reasons I tend to stay away from wikipedia to support my rebuttals. I have also read your article about your skepticism about "man-made" global warming and I found your argument very compelling.
I don't remember Reagan or Carter as I was still young but aside from the political statements you've made I found your information very grounded because of your education background.
I, personally don't think that "man-made" global warming is a hoax presented by the IPCC but I also don't agree that Humans are entirely to blame for the climate changes and greenhouse gases.
I believe that there is substantial proof that we've changed our climate because, well as you've noted in your article America for one has changed their methods when it comes to the attempt at establishing Earth-friendly resource consumption and that in its self proves that we've decided we were having some effect on it, right?
From what I know we are a country of mass consumers who require fast and easy provision of the daily needs we purchase and because we are such a demanding country it is only natural that there'd be nuclear plants and mass planetary resource consumption. I have nothing against the supply and demand system of the world but I think America is doing a great job trying to find easier and earth-friendlier ways of preserving the planet.

On a side note I wish China would take a note from us as it's clear from studies that China has no filtration system established in their nuclear power plants and the pollution caused by China doesn't help us (that's us as in U.S.) in our attempts to better our consumption habits.

When I say consumption I mean fuel, food, agriculture and what have you. Anything that is demanded and everything that is supplied because ultimately anything provided to us comes from the earth in some way or another.
Do I think we're the only reason for global warming?
Not at all.
I think it's a combination of things that involve situations and happenings that we can't control such as the growth of the sun and the over-population of live stock and humans.

I forgot that sometimes I make these too long.
didn't read my view on this matter cause it was too long. LOL. I felt bad.

Anyway, besides that I think that we are too advanced as a species and too set in our ways to just throw out all the comforts of our lives based on some political groups "findings". Do I discount the "findings" of IPCC? Not necessarily but I'm also not going to base the rest of my life on their views of "man-made" global warming because personally I feel that if we really, truly want to change how we effect the world we'll have to work as an entirety and not just a group. The whole planet would need to work together or there can be no balance. I believe the IPCC has established good nature methods of changing the human factor effect on the Earth by supporting the foundations and parties that were established in the pursuit of better consumption habits such as alternative energy but I think that the blame can not be entirely placed on humans. The breeding of live-stock, for instance is also a very large factor in global warming.

TL;DR
Just in case

I, personally think America and other nations are doing just fine in attempting to have as little an effect on the earth as possible and we have changed the effects we've had for the better. The idea of "man-made" global warming still exists but it's not only man who effects the increasing temperatures of the world. A lot of the effects of greenhouse gases and global warming are caused by situations and global changes that we have no control over.
I liked your article because of the eloquence of it and the initial foundation of your education to support your claims.

Hope that wasn't too too all over the place. I tend to go on tangents sometimes. If I wrote a book it'll be longer then all 7 harry potter books out together. LOL. Sorry about that!

I partially agree with you on Blamethe1st's 'no global warming' piece- the world Is warming, or was up until recently. However a great deal of reading has shown me that this is not even the warmest period in the last 10,000 years. I believe our problem today is not the temperatures but the population. We'll survive this round of warming easily, because we've already experienced higher temps. But it gets more difficult for some because areas prone to more severe weather- be it by warming or cooling- are now more crowded.

Does the virgin olive oil thing really work on hair, without making it overly greasy? I think I'd worry about it irritating my face with too much contact. Sorry for being random, but I saw your comment on the front page photo, and you piqued my curiosity.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LiensriiLovely In reply to Deviant-KB [2011-05-26 04:21:48 +0000 UTC]

The olive oil thing works GREAT but you gotta be careful not to put too much in. The measurements is if you have shoulder length hair you would put a few drops in your palm that measured in between the two dominate lines on you palm. But it's okay if you put too much (as long as you have time) because you can run your hair under some water for about thirty seconds. If you can it on your skin it's okay cause you can use some toilet paper and dab the oil off your skin. But if you have oily skin then you should wash your face with St. Ives.
I know about this stuff cause I used to work for an organic cosmetic store and they had this hair serum that was mostly olive oil and coco oil and it worked so good for my hair.
I used to dye my hair all the time when I was young and I practically killed it so I started using the serum every night before bed and it work wonders!
You should try it.

Deviant-KB In reply to LiensriiLovely [2011-05-26 21:38:52 +0000 UTC]

Thank you so much for the detailed reply! My skin isn't really oily, but it's extremely sensitive (and fair, which means even the smallest blemishes stand out). I get a little nervous with oily hair treatments because if they get on my pillow as I sleep, it can sometimes cause my face to look blotchy (or worse, break out). B~ut, this olive oil treatment sounds promising, so perhaps I'll throw my hair in a wrap for a few weeks to see how it goes. And that must have been an interesting job. I always have to refer to my friends for suggestions on natural stuff; they're from the city, so they have FAR more options for places to shop. Unfortunately, the only decent organic "stores" I have are the ones I browse online.

LiensriiLovely In reply to Deviant-KB [2011-05-27 01:20:55 +0000 UTC]

Well, another thing you can do if you have the ability to (ability meaning there's one in your neighborhood) is you can go to a Whole Foods store or any holistic store (even anthropology stores, too) and pick up three very essential ingredients that aren't even that expensive.
*Calendula flower is really really good for reducing the blotchy, redness of the skin. You can usually get some calendula oil at the holistic stores or anywhere that sales essential oils.
*Tea tree oil is usually much easier to find and it's AMAZING as a natural anti-bacterial for when your skin breaks out. It's great for sensitive skin, too. When you start to break out you should always pop your pimples. A lot of people think you're not supposed to pop you pimples but you definitely should. The only thing you need to make sure you do right after you pop your pimples is you need to clean to area right away. The best thing to clean with is the tea tree oil when you have sensitive skin.
You gotta pop the pimple because pimples are made of bacteria and dirt and nasty stuff like that and if you leave it on your skin then the bacteria can grow and the germs will live under your skin and just spread. You also got to be careful not to let them scar and the best way to do that is to pop the pimple by piercing it with a sterile needle and then pressing the...puss out with clean fingers. That way you're not blasting the...puss...out of your skin.

A very easy to find essential oil is Lavender oil which is a miracle plant! It is a natural anti-septic, a natural burn or irritation reduced (helps great with red, irritated skin), it's a natural moisturizer which means it can also be used on your skin and it's a healing plant, too so it's great to put on your skin after popping pimples.

So, I suggest you go to a holistic store or a natural store and find
*Calendula
* Lavender
*Tea Tree
and also you might want to pick up some Coco-oil or shea butter.

Mix equal parts of it together with your every day face wash if you want. Or you can use them by themselves but that should help you a lot with not only your dry hair issues but also with skin issues, too.

I hope this helps!
