Hey! My friend =Curiosajess visited your page and said that your interests seemed to mirror mine a little bit, and upon visiting your page, I take interest in plenty of the things that you like, especially Daft Punk.
Just a neat coincidence I thought I would share! Great gallery!

yea, it is quite a coincidence,
I'm a fairly new fan of Daft Punk, maybe a year, and I love them, I heard Alive 2007 first, and it was love at first hear.
thanks for the compliment, though my art is barely passable as mediocre. I will be sure to browse your gallery.

Yeah, I know, right? Alive 2007 was a grand, mighty orgasm for DP fans everywhere; including myself! I haven't heard much from Alive 2007, actually- but from what I did hear, even over the crappy quality of Youtube- I can only imagine what that must have been like live. JESUS BATMAN.
But I've been a fan since Discovery first came out in 2001, and it's killing me to not see Tron Legacy until December~
Ahh, getting popular is over-rated! You're doing fine. I post maybe once a year, but I hope some of my stuff appeals to you. I would prefer to draw other things but my pencil spews out women by default. xD

I hope that they tour for their legacy album, in which case I will make sure I get tickets.
my pencil seems to do the same. Females are much more appealing to draw...wonder why.

Me, too... I will be right there with you, even if I have to go 200 miles out of my way. I have a feeling the whole thing is going to be fantastic!
Drawing women might be more of a no-brainer for you, since you're a guy, but I'm a heterosexual female, and it's just my thing. Kudos to you for being classy with it. =3

LightDeity In reply to Militiawoman [2010-03-25 04:59:54 +0000 UTC]
maybe it's just the fact that the female form is a more acquired taste for your create side.
I see nothing strange with straight women drawing women. And classy how? Like, not vulgar?

Militiawoman In reply to LightDeity [2010-03-25 05:05:04 +0000 UTC]
I am sure that that is what it is. It's also an effective outlet. Awesome! You understood that better than I did!
Well, I'm not going to go forth and judge he who I just met, but yes, from what your gallery is showing me, you've drawn women in an artistic manner. (not that a little bit of the other side is so bad!) But I was just complimenting you on it.

scratch that last comment. Every piece of work is artistic in some way, it is all in the eye of the viewer. I don't have any right to say something isn't artistic as a whole.

Militiawoman In reply to LightDeity [2010-03-25 08:27:59 +0000 UTC]
Well, in my opinion, most MySpace pictures are not artistic in the least, but there is a slightly more artistic quality in them if it's a picture someone drew from looking at a MySpace picture.
Hey, maybe you feel the same way, but you have a nice feel to your art. What is your favorite genre?
π: 0 β©: 1
LightDeity In reply to Militiawoman [2010-03-25 08:34:07 +0000 UTC]
I'd say my favorite genre of art is western comic-book style. Especially work by someone like Adam Hughes.
and what about you?
π: 0 β©: 1
Militiawoman In reply to LightDeity [2010-03-25 08:39:26 +0000 UTC]
I'm betting on the same! My favorite is the Western comic-book style, too! But I am a sucker for the late Mike Turner's art! I just loved the way he did faces, even if I prefer something a little more realistic, myself. I want to do art in a very similar fashion, but make it my own, too.
That's a pretty groovy coincidence we have going here xD

LightDeity In reply to Militiawoman [2010-03-25 08:47:19 +0000 UTC]
I think the appeal of western comic-style is that it has a realistic tone to it, but can still be very animated and abstract. Unlike something like japanese anime or manga, where the style is overly animated, which makes it a mostly animated and exaggerated art form.
then there are some who seem to combine them, like Reiq, who I've always praised for having a style that seems to merge western comic and eastern manga. Though since he moved to japan his style has shifted more towards anime.

Militiawoman In reply to LightDeity [2010-03-25 08:53:51 +0000 UTC]
Oh yeah, I noticed you liked Reiq. Man, my friend from earlier, Curiosajess, is in LOVE with Reiq- Way more than you will ever be; that's his #1 fangirl right there. I am sure that that is exactly how she found you!
I am not going to lie, he's a wonderful artist all around but I'm not very impressed with what he does. It's not my thing. I can't really tell you why- everything he does is beautiful.

LightDeity In reply to Militiawoman [2010-03-25 08:58:20 +0000 UTC]
I can see why you wouldn't like his art, but, it's hard to not be impressed with the caliber of skill he has.
some people (especially women) don't find his drawings appealing for some obvious reasons. Some of his work I don't find appealing, but, overall his skill just wins me over.
well, I've got to get going, classes start in a few hours, gotta shower and cook some breakfast. Twas nice meeting you and chatting, glad curiosajess? showed my profile to you, haha. Stop by anytime.

Ahh, it's not the fact that he draws women in the poses they are in, or half-naked; I don't mind at all! I just don't go for the anime style he adds to it, I think. Beautiful, beautiful work he has, though- I have to agree with you!
It was a fine pleasure meeting you, too! I will do that! Have a good day!

LightDeity In reply to Militiawoman [2010-03-25 05:12:19 +0000 UTC]
well, I knew it was a compliment, I was just wondering how it's classy. I appreciate the compliment.
I don't like drawing females in a strictly sexual way. You look at some people's galleries or favorites, and the artistic value is lacking while the art is extremely sexual. I don't like it personally. If you look in my favorites (which is mostly females) they are all great pieces of artwork in terms of artistic value.
the reason I seem to favorite more women then men? Mostly because I figure that I can favorite everything, and females appeal to me more.

LightDeity In reply to LightDeity [2010-03-25 05:21:20 +0000 UTC]
not to say that some of the art in my favorites aren't sexual, because a lot are, but, they are still done really well.
I dunno...did that comment sound hypocritical? Also, I meant *can't favorite everything

Baptized Catholic, but raised different ways. I don't really follow any specific religion, although my views may lean towards some more then others, I just like to categorize myself as spiritual I guess.

hmmm, cool. cool.
I am a born-again christian, and, have been for my entire life. And when I say that, people tend to think I've been brainwashed...which, is bullshit.
also, as a side note, due to a bet I made with a friend, I have a cross burned into my under forearm....or whatever its called.
it is a very long story....lolz...
