As in art of original characters in existing fiction? depends on what it is.

I would say that is dependant on the OC. For example if someone does a really good job at creating their own original content (and by extension original characters), then I may choose to depict that. A good example is Katia Managan from the online comic Prequel. She is not an official character in The Elder Scrolls Series, but I would, and have done fan art of her previously (Not shown on this site).
If someone were to ask me to depict their OC then I may do that, but not out of fandom per se.
