Oh I know what you mean! I read the first discworld and promised I wouldn't read another until I finished all my other books. But then my buddy in NY sent me a buddy basket (We put cards on different things saying "keep" or "borrow" and stick them in a box and ship them) with a lend in it: a discworld book. -sigh- I'm totally reading it. After my promise to myself!

You know, I'm a terrible artist and lack time to better myself. I sew and scrapbook and that's the extent of art to me. I'm a college student now so yeah. It only gets busier from here, right?

BUT I can often be found here at night looking at other's artwork and faving memes. -.- (I'm addicted to memes. It's horrible. I need a doctor or something.)

I had typed up an entire reply for this, and then my laptop's power went out and I lost it.

Short version:

- I totally want to start doing book swaps with friends/on the net! Actually spoke about that before, and was considering making a dA journal on the subject.

- YOU ARE AWESOME FOR YOUR SCRAPBOOKING. It's something I've wanted to do for ages, but there are so many options and things to try that I don't know where to begin! But... I have a pretty big collection of paper. Every time I go into the art store with little cash, if I can't see anything I can afford, I'll go, "Well, this pretty piece of paper is only 99 cents!". Paper fetish. I'm weird like that.

- You're not alone in your meme addiction!! I looooove them, and have about 397207 fav'd that I keep intended to do but never get around to.

- Your question made me laugh. It's actually a spinning umbrella from Toradora, but since making it EVERYONE has asked me about the RE reference. I should start saying, "Yes," because it would be the cooler answer.

Eek, that wasn't so short after all.. just imagine if you had gotten the first, longer version!

Oh don't worry I love long messages! I always write really long ones! I have a friend that will write me back half the time "I didn't read that. It was too long."

It's a very nice system, book swapping. I'm happy to swap books with you too if you want. But...I have pretty "open" tastes. Like...pretty much anything goes with me.

I love paper! I get different paper for like every project! Went to China: went and got Chinese papers. Went to Alaska: bought scrapbooking stuff and paper. -.- It's pretty sad.

If I could draw, I would TOTALLY love to do those kinds of things. But even memes are too hard for me. And I get too embarrased doing stick figures. You came into my Deviantart at a weird time cause I'm just now getting tons of stuff up. It's all Cosplay though. I've had this account like 2 years and been totally inactive except for comments.

So what's Toradora anyway? Of course I could just go look it up, but I'd rather ask you and get another long response back as you try to explain something complicated.

Sorry again for a slow reply! I peek at dA almost daily, but a lot of the time replies to longer comments gets delayed until the weekend.

And yes - I think a book swap would be fun! My tastes are also all over the place. I genre bounce like a librarian on a caffeine trip, and will try anything from classics to junk food (aka, not the best written but yummy!) reads.

I'm actually very glad to hear that I'm not alone with my paper fetish. I can't make fun of your China or Alaska trip, because when I came back from Japan, I had a tote bag that was filled to the brim with stationary stuff. Friends thought I was nuts, but it's an addiction.

Haha, and don't fear stick figures! There are actually a couple of really popular artists around dA who draw only stick figures. Or, if you ever feel the need to be artsy, you can try coloring line arts (it's what my friend does for stress relief, lol).

Toradora was a short anime/novel that came out in 2009. I'm usually not a big fan of the romance/comedy shows that don't have some crazier elements, but I fell in love with Toradora almost instantly. It was one of those rare shows where I adored nearly every character. With me, characterization is always > plot. I can deal with cliched storylines and themes just so long as I love the characters involved. Likewise, a show can have a phenomenally unique and interesting concept, but if the characters disinterest me or are all around unlikeable, odds are the story won't grip me, either.

Do you work? You seem really tired just now.

Characterization....I think it's important. But I've never had a single Anime or show or book I REALLY loved without good plot AND characterization. I do find that I analyze characters. Motives are important. If the character isn't consistent it also bothers me. My friends think I don't realize what reality is because I do it so much. It's the opposite. I realize it isn't real, but it should act real or what's the friggin' point?

Anyhow, I'll have to check out Toradora sometime...
What did you do in Japan? It's my life's ambition to travel the world, including a 6 month minimum stay in Japan.

Another REALLY late reply, sorry!

Yeah, I'm constantly in a (@_@) state as of late. I got a position at work that needs me up at 5:30 to make it on time, and I don't get home till 5-ish, so it's a LONG day. By the time I'm home I feel like I have *just* enough energy to get my hand to the television remote, and that's the end, LOL. It sounds horrible, but I'm hoping that once I get more into the routine of things I'll revive from zombie land and gain some motivation to do some more art.

And yes, I totally understand your point! Fiction is wonderful, but writers have to play by the rules they set! So what if a world has magic, or crazily futuristic inventions, or super powers or whatever? That's fine, but it doesn't mean you can freely break the definition of your character without rhyme or reason.

I've got Choco friended on here. I've got her on my watch, so I frequently take peeks at her work, but I know zilch about pokemon so I fail at any good comments.

And I was teaching English with the Jet Programme for two years, and then working at a private school for the majority of my last year and a half. When you get around to taking that trip, I can give you some pointers on the better places to stop and visit!

Oh I'd love you forever for your advice! My friends and I are already in planning for the trip now. But we are focusing on S America now because we are taking it a little at a time. I love to plan big events so it's just the thing for me! We are also planning on doing the jet programme while in Japan, for one semester only. I speak a little Japanese but...I have a lot to learn.

Don't worry about late replies. I didn't have my macbook for the last whole week haha. It was in the apple store getting a new face cover, which they luckily do for free. I was going to fix the disk drive but I discovered it wasn't worth it about the time "over $100" hit the clerk's lips.

Your work sounds really hard! I hope you can get into the swing of things soon. I have a fairly simple cleaning job on top of school, and I make a lot of money for what it is so I'm am a very happy Iko.

Ahhh, I'm SO jealous of your travel plans! Above anything else, I adore visiting new places. Live it up, Iko, before ya gotta join the full fledged adult world. >_< More expenses, limited vacation time, it sucks! I really hope I can find a job someday that allows me to be on the go, but for now I'm grateful just to have a paycheck. I'm supporting Mom and I right now, and I'm extremely lucky to be in the company I'm at in regard of $$$. Lay offs are happening all over CT like crazy, but my place is infamous for never having a layoff in its 180 year history.

Hm, and JET programme doesn't offer a one semester plan... If you want to do a single semester, however, I HIGHLY recommend ECC. It's the only teacher-outsource company whom I trust. Had horrible experience with NOVA, and heard disaster stories about so many of the others. Trust me, when you're thrusting yourself into a foreign country and your VISA and income depends on someone else, you want to be working with the right people.

Good luck with your own job! I remember having part time work while in uni, and sometimes it's enough to drop you at the end of the day. The extra cash is always a wonderful bonus, though

the wilshire grand since its the cheapest i could find, its half a mile from the con center but there will be shuttles for us in the room listing meaning you me ana and one of my friends, the other two im gonna have to give keys or be with them @ all times,were staying from the day off till the day after, unless of course you would prefer to leave on the last day? btw i havnt booked yet so thats why im waiting for everyones opinion cuz i know some wanna stay for closing cermony others wanna leave. id prefer we stay the day after cuz then we dont have to panic about leaving the hotel or packing on the last day and that we can rest and leave refreshed the next morning. oh i hope im not being a pain in the ass but can you get me on the way up to AX please? ill pay gas, im more than likely to call you later though, because hearing your dreamy voice always brightens my day. btw il tell hunny tanjobi oominito for you, sucks i have to put up with the cow for 12 straight hrs though. #-_-#

First, yes. And book like...right now please. I told ana you booked already!!!!! And hunny, she's really worried about it okay? I don't really care and Ana doesn't either if we stay an extra day or not.
Second....uh....we're going past valencia to Ema Wood. You're going to have to come all the way up here. Hunnigton and Newport are too popular. Wolfie won't be able to take a single picture of us without background people!!! So sorry!
Lastly...I kind of only had one oportunity to talk today, and then...you didn't pick up your phone and I was busy the rest of the day so....I'm really sorry. By the time I got home and situated it was past 9 so I failed. You should be able to call me tomorow. Sorry I let you get on my nerves a little today. It's just I told you not to call more than once even if I didn't pick up. I picked up my phone and I had 3 from you!!!! Please don't do that again, you have no idea how hard I am working! Well, maybe you do because you have long shifts at work...but then again, my studies are that long a day, and sometimes after 4 hours at school! Which is actually like 11 hours of study time!
