I beg to differ with DD and whoever characterizes DA as having an "enormous" bdsm community. I have a very different impression, after a little more than a year in the communty... Whoever even knows the meaning of it,
apparently form a "very" small
closed, uncommunicative, inarticulate community. There is apparently a vibrant _small_ community of fem submissive folk, but _little_ else, and
characterized as I mentioned above... so _you_ are lucky... I content myself with good conversation of several very good, and a few world-class artists - and in more media than most would suspect...
I have always found it strange though that in such a huge community, there weren't
_hundreds_ of communicative bdsm enthusuiasts, of all persuasions, but it aint so... _Art_ , though, rules...

I think that we definitely have a community here on DA, however, I think it's filled with a lot of individuals who just like the idea of BDSM, and aren't actually using it in their lives, or hide it from others, which is totally unfortunate. I've incorporated BDSM into my vanilla lifestyle, and that has only helped me to grow as a person.

Greetings - one response to 21 poems (because critiquing them all would take eternity-ish: In general I liked the ones without an excess of gerunds much more than the ones with a lot of gerunds in them. When you've just written something, read over it and see how many gerunds sound better when conveyed differently. But it's neat to see that you're so enthusiastic about writing poetry!

I was reading your stuff on MySpace briefly. I, as a pretty strong Christian, and, (believe it or not,) a fellow person of the Scene, wanted to say… Man, I completely understand what you mean about other’s self-righteousness. I know a lot of us ‘Christians’ don’t represent Christ very well, but please know that some of us actually do love our Bro’s and Sis’s, even if we differ a bit on our spiritual background. (One of my best friends is a Satanist in fact, good fellow, and great to speak to about morality issues, very insightful. But that friendship that can be a challenge to explain to more ‘vanilla’ minded Christians.) Anyway, just wanted to give you a shout. I look forward to seeing you on the boards.

A belated welcome to DA, and thanks for visiting my page. I hope you found something you like (I'm pretty sure you did, my writing has some really, really strong common undertones ^_^). I'm also a not quite comfortable mix of shocked and relieved to see a high-school-aged person who's discovered D/s. I really hope you've done your homework, otherwise I'm afraid you're in for a bit of a chilly reception from DA's enormous BDSM community (I should know; I'm still trying to gain acceptance after trying for six months or so). Also (I found this out the hard way), unless you're above college age (that's 23+), you might want to remove your age from the "Devious Information" section. The reason I can't get in is that, like you, I'm younger than one might expect, and people see that and read: "Inexperienced. Redirect her to Castlerealm but don't take her seriously because it's probably just a phase." Just a few words of warning. Enjoy the amazingly free and liberal atmosphere DA provides - I hope to see your art go far!
