Studies show that artists tend to apply personal attributes to their own pieces, without conscious effort...
I think studies show that, anyway.
You see yourself more often then anyone else, it only makes sense.

For one, the cardinal is red, and you seem red to me, fierce, outgoing, strong, bold, and... at the same time not seen often enough.

Also, it is a bird both rare and common, I see it both often, and never...
