Thanks for the fav and the watch!
I think I had better watch you too as you obviously live very, very close to where I live?
Now how am I going to get away with cloning out the odd tiny things like power stations and oil refineries and pylons?
Oh and if you happen to find another account on here with photographs of the area,I deny any knowledge of it?

I guess we must live close to each other indeed lol.
Don't worry, I'll completely ignore it. It's an art site so it's allowed, anything goes on DA to be honest XD
Hehe, I'm guessing you have another account then?

Yes,when I saw the shots of High Halstow I started to get very worried!
It must be very easy to guess where I live though from my gallery as half the time I'm being extremely rude about a certain so called charitable society for the protection of birds, and their reserve I live a few minutes walk from?
And also I enjoy nothing better than to be able to put photographs on here of the foxes and other animals that the charitable society shoots to show people what they are really like.
I often put a link to the donate page of the R.S.P.B. website with the photos of the shot animals asking people to give generously to help them keep doing such a wonderful job protecting wildlife!
I'll push them into trying to sue me one day!
Funny you should mention another account,as I do have a top secret account, that is one of the worst kept secrets along with where I live, that most people seem to know about and find?
I can tell you the address if you would like to know it,but you must promise to guard the secret with your life the same as I do?

Lol! Oh and sorry for worrying you. I go to High Halstow a few times a year because it's where my Dad comes from and my Nan still lives there
Haha, okay go for it. I'll guard it with my life, promise!
Even if this guy comes after me haha. I must say that's one of my favourite emoticons. Eh, I use them too much though

Thank you,I shall try and forgive you?
Oh I see,its not actually High Halstow where I live, thats next to the next village sort of thing just up the road?
Its the other R.S.P.B. reserve I live near, the village next to Cooling, the one that has a fort and lots of big old chalk pits full of water they call lakes, and one the only churches in the country that still has some of the original medieval paint on the columns and walls, and is called St Helens which may give more of a clue?
Oh and it has some very old houses too in the high street!
Umm,I seem to have accidentally given it away, the other address, with the links I gave you of the pictures of Grain?
I did tell you its a badly kept secret, that may explain why?
Never had the chance to use this one yet.... ok,forget what I just said?
It is a bad habit to get into with the emoticons, when you go to write something where there are no emoticons you don't know what to do without them,I can imagine writing my will and it having and loads of others in it,and the solicitor reading it out......

Ooooh Cliffe! I used to go sailing there a few years back I knew about the other stuff...but never knew there was an RSPB reserve there too. Unless it slipped my mind o.O
Ahhhh So that's why it's such a badly kept secret XD Yeah, that did explain why
Haha I know what you mean I think it's gonna be the same with me! Whenever I write anything offline I always get little urges to add them to pretty much every sentence Oooo and I like this one too ...I seem to like the more violent/evil ones. I think that could be a worrying sign lol

Did somebody tell you?
Have you seen the ruins here?
The gothic arches hidden in the woods?
Hang on a sec, just find a link.... [link] [link] [link]
They are not the best examples I'm afraid, but would have been searching all night for the ones I wanted?
Can just see in my mind a medieval/gothic maiden posing tragically in those arches!
Tried doing a couple of shoots with models there, one never bothered to bring the clothes she was meant to,and turned up in jeans, jumper and leather jacket, and the other one just was not suitable for the location.
Was that on the lake by the fort, the club lake?
People used to use the main lakes, but you can guess who put a stop to that!
You could be forgiven for not noticing its a reserve, with the rubbish, stolen cars, motorcycles, shooting and lack of wildlife,it does not really look like a reserve, and not many people expect to see the badly decomposed body of a fox somebody shot in the middle of the footpath for over three weeks in a nature reserve?
There is a shot of that in my gallery, but won't give you the link as its not very nice to see.
I still can not work out how people guess about my secret account,I am very careful to never mention it you know?
Sure its those blooming dA gremlins again, they often try and get me into trouble, and sure its them who sneakily put links to the top secret account in messages?
Now see what I mean about the emotional scars?
Those violent emoticons are a symptom of the horrific abuse you suffered as a child by being forced to go for walks at Grain, its the subconcious anger and frustration coming to the surface!
There is the strong danger the cycle of abuse will continue, and you will abuse your own children one day,and force them to suffer walks at Grain in a misdirected attempt at revenge upon your parents, then one day they will do the same to their children, and the cycle will never end?

Lol, where are those? They look awesome That looks an awesome place to take photos
When I clicked on the link, before I even read what you said I pictured a gothic girl posing there too I'd like to be photographed there actually. In my boots that I nicknamed "the sexy beasts" <3
Wow...maybe I have been there but just never realised because of the crapness of it. That's pitiful...o_O Why's it even allowed to be called a reserve? XD
Damn those gremlins At the moment they're only allowing me to see one page of my inbox, which contains 3 out of my 5 unread messages! They're so fiendish
And that's deep. I'd never wish the torture of a 2 hour long walk in Grain upon anyone, least of all my own children. No, when my parents are old I'll wheelchair them around Grain and that shall be my revenge!

They are in the woods on the edge of the reserve, you can also climb up on top of the ruin, its like a ruined city up there with fallen walls, arched doorways and tunnels, plus the huge base of one of the chimneys, there are arched tunnels leading out in the walls of it,and the bottom of it is full of moss covered fallen trees and huge great ferns, its like something from a South American rain forest, you could almost imagine ancient Incas throwing sacrificial virgins in to be eaten by giant serpents!
But those arches, they do speak to you and say they need somebody posing there, one shot I clearly see in my mind is black and white,a girl in a long plain white dress to give a timeless look, standing with her back to the inside of one of the arches so side on to the camera, looking slightly down as though deep in sad thoughts, the sort of shot that makes you wonder what she is thinking and why she is sad,is she human or a ghost and the imagination is fired?
They are not the only ruins either, out by the creek are the old cement kilns with arched doors going into the circular kilns that have no roofs on.
Having a vivid imagination, they make me think of the houses of the damned,on a dark stormy day you can just imagine the tormented souls imprisoned inside, strangely enough I do just so happen to have some photos of them! [link] [link]
The second one is awful I admit, dodgy frame and got bored working on it trying to do something with the sky,did what is known as the Sabbatier effect on it,and it makes a right mess of the sky if there are dark clouds.
Well if you are totally insane, enjoy dressing up in costumes or outrageous clothes, can keep dead still for two seconds without blinking, its very dark in there and flash or lighting totally kills the shots with nasty shadows and looks really awful,so have to use a quite slow exposure with natural light, did I mention totally insane with a vivid imagination?
Are extremely extrovert and enjoy showing off and posing for the camera, enjoy experimenting with hair and make-up,can put up with my strange sense of humour,I don't mind doing a shoot with you there if you like?
The potential for different different types of shots there is really good, from grainy black and white to bright colours against dark shadows, the imagination is the only limit?
Oh,tell you what I do have is a Mamiya 645,thats a 120mm medium format camera that shoots extremely high resolution shots on film, its roughly equivalent to a 36 megapixel digital camera, you can enlarge the photographs to over 20 feet across without losing the detail, that could be interesting to use as well as digital?
That reminds me,have you seen the shipwreck of the sailing ship near the fort?
I have got some shots of it that I risked getting drowned to get,but they were submitted a few years ago and will take me hours to find!
You would have seen it going out to the boating lake,as you are going out on the concrete road, its all the area to the right on the other side of the conveyor.
Plus with all the rubbish and stolen cars from by the start of the concrete road that used to be everywhere you looked, you probably would have thought it was a local dump?
They call it a reserve, but you do not get many bird watchers there,if they do go they never go back?
Those bloody gremlins, thats their favourite trick at the moment, playing around with messages and the inbox, damned nuisances, have they played the clicking reply opens the message page rather than dropping down the reply box trick on you yet?
And I was hoping they would have got bored of the missing messages trick by now?
Or the junk messages that dA send with their special offers, when you delete them, next time you log in there they are all back again?
And not sure if its my imagination, but I could swear I can hear their little squeaky giggles every time I get a blank page with the "error loading deviations" message?
I know at the moment you believe you would never do that to your own children, but what you have to consider is what those years of forgotten nightmares, the subconcious fear of walking around Grain again do,it does do serious psychological damage long term?
The human mind is not able to cope with the trauma of walks around such a distressing and unpleasant place, but for a child to be subjected to that is far more damaging than any torture dreamt of by the most evil and warped mind possible, the overload of ugliness alone just from seeing all the pylons, the power station and the local chav population is something that can never be purged from the memory its so shocking?
If you really want revenge, take them round there in the wheelchairs for a year or so,but then for the sweetest revenge possible, buy them a house there and make them live in it?

It sounds brilliant there I can kind of picture that too...like a victorian-esque dress? Maybe that's just me lol
It's not that bad I mean you're a lot better than me So you can't really tell me that your pictures are terrible
Hehe, it sounds fun I could try...I reckon I can stay still for 2 seconds without blinking. Apparently I'm photogenic, and I have been known for being a bit of a poser
Wow...that's like over double the mp of my camera :') I feel pretty pwned Pretty amazing how much you can blow it up without losing detail though You could use your photos as wallpaper
I haven't seen the shipwreck, but my Dad's told me about it before. I wasn't really sure what it was, but I saw a lot of fly-tipping
The gremlins have indeed played that trick on me They're so mean Maybe they're trying to bully me into subcription
Haha, that's really really really harsh My kids will have to be eviller than the DA gremlins for me to do that :') I think it's quite funny, my Uncle, his wife and his kids lived in Grain for a while :') It's okay because they're horrible and I just found it very funny when they moved there They're in Strood now, which is marginally better I guess.

Its a wonderful place, you have to turn off the colour in your eyes and see it in black and white for the best experience though!
Yes,something like those seen in the Pre-Raphaelite style of art, that tragically romantic look that normally has white lilies involved, and came from the Victorian Gothic revival.
The ivy on the arches and ruin is absolutely perfect for that.
But in black and white or slightly muted colour, that long white dress would complete that look.
My photos are terrible,I think so anyway and they are never good enough, and I'm always getting told off for saying that and for putting them in scraps!
But thank you!
Ok then,as soon as it dries out a bit we can sort out a shoot, its too muddy there at the moment after all the rain, and you being caked in mud is not a good thing, especially if you do have a white dress on?
Hopefully after Easter we may get some sunshine, few days of that is all it needs to dry out?
With the keeping still,as long as there is some sun I should be able to shoot at shutter speeds above 1/60 second, and its only if its a really dark day I would have to do 1 or 2 second exposures or use a 50mm lens and a wide aperture,I'm too lazy to carry a tripod so you can guess which one it would be?
Oh what type of boots are they you have by the way?
If they are what I think with straps and buckles, and 24 inch soles at least!
I have some ideas for those as well?
A lot of professionals still use 120mm film because of the high resolution and quality, you are talking a serious amount of money to match it digitally, plus with digital you pay £60000 or more for a digital back and in 2 years its out of date as technology has moved on,and you have to pay that out again for the latest however many pixel version, you can not run a business doing that?
Plus you are talking of the expense of every latest version of photoshop,a new top end Mac every year or so,plus a good quality tablet and whatever other software you use,oh and you still have to buy the camera body and lenses.
But you can buy a new Mamiya with a 120 back for less than £5000,and thats with an extremely good quality 80mm lens, and that can be used for many years and never need to be updated to the latest model.
Umm,I do admit to being a bit of a Mamiya fanboy, have two Mamiya cameras, and they are a beautiful camera to use and so well made, they are one of the few cameras you can feel everything the camera does, and it sort of becomes part of you as you use it,the Voightlander is another one like that, umm, yes I do have a few Voightlanders too!
Oh I managed to find some shots of the wreck, have to admit they are awful though and extremely embarrassing, well you will see what I mean? [link] [link] [link] [link]
Little sods those gremlins!
I think you may have something there about the subscriptions?
That sounds just like dA to employ gremlins to bug and bully people into subscribing, that is a pretty low down trick, even for dA?
Thank goodness you no longer have the shame of family living in Grain?
That is a subject that could be debatable,Strood being better than Grain?
Stroodites are only one step up from Chathamites, and Strood does have the infamous Darnley road?
And there are some very scrungey chav types all over Strood?
Thats what comes from inbreeding I suppose?
And walking around Strood town centre on a saturday does tend to throw the theory of human evolution out of the window?

They're not terrible. You clearly haven't seen any of mine if you think you're terrible!
It sounds lovely there, I definitely picture it pretty much the same as you I think Yeah, that would be good I don't know how good I'd be, but I can certainly try my best Haha, I wish I had some of those boots but I don't These are what I have: [link]
That's just stupid o.O What a lot of money to pay out all the time just for it to be digital, such a waste :S
Haha, I haven't walked around Strood town centre on a saturday for a few years. I used to get stared at, because I use to go there after horse riding...so I was walking around in purple jodphurs xD My Dad used to call me 'the gothic horse rider' because all my boots/hat/coat/jumpers/riding gloves were black and my jodphur and crop were purple Needless to say everyone looked at me like wtf. I remember the lovely strange smells, all the chavtastic fashions and the yelling of the people at the fruit stalls in that alleyway from the car park to the high street though. Unfortunately, I think it's something that will never be erased from my memory My strood family are already very shameful though so meh. Haven't seen them for years until a couple of days ago! I pulled up at my Nan's house in High Halstow to see what I thought was their car....then I phoned my Dad to check it was their car, then got my boyfriend to drive away again as quickly as possible :') I think they might have realised it was me, but I'm not sure. I don't really care if they know that I hate them to be honest

Its a photography thing, photos are never good enough, but you have nothing to worry about, yours are good!
Ok,I'll send you my email address in a note and we can sort something out,I'm off to America for a while but that probably won't be until the end of next month as I still have to sort out a few things before going, hoping to stay there for three months if I can talk my parents into looking after my dog for that long?
There is nothing to worry about,I'm very easy to work with and some people almost even like me too,not many though and I can demonstrate the poses as long as you promise not to laugh!
It just makes it easier if I do that even if I do look silly.
Oh yes, they are the sort of boots I was thinking off,I know a perfect place for a post-apocalyptic nuclear wasteland type setting with the skeleton of a ruined factory tower and other abandoned industrial bits, and I have a replica UZI sub-machine pistol and a few other props if you fancy being the future female warrior fighting for survival in a dying earth?
Digital is a blessing in some ways, but the camera makers are so greedy they will eventually destroy the professional market if they are not careful,a lot of professionals just hire a camera for a shoot because of the price, plus a lot have gone back to film for the same reason.
The Mamiya I have only cost me £200 for a mint condition camera,80mm lens, two 120 backs, prism and waist level finders plus focus screen and case, and that will just go on for ever, but I also have a lot of other cameras,TLR's,rangefinders,SLR's that the most I paid was £70,and a lot of them cost less than £10.
Are you sure that was why you were stared at in Strood?
Most of the horsey girls I know do have, how can I put it,a strong "aroma" of horse about them that can be slightly overpowering!
Apart from that,I can just imagine the looks you got walking through almost the heart of chavland dressed like that!
Some things never change,I remember the looks I used to get years ago from the equivalent of todays chavs,I had long dyed black hair that I could tuck in the back of my trousers, wore heavy eyeliner and dressed all in black clothes or black leather, and used to listen to Bauhaus,The Mission,Southern Death Cult,The Cure and stuff like that before it was called gothic,it was very dodgy to go in pubs dressed like that, and you had to be a good runner to avoid violence!
That memory will stay with you the rest of your life I'm afraid?
The shock of seeing so many chavs, inbreds and Stroodites in general is just too much for the human mind to cope with?
Those strange smells were probably the gallons of counterfeit perfume and aftershave from a market that the chavs use to attempt to hide the smell of unwashed sweaty bodies?
It costs less for a gallon of that than it does for a bar of soap,so the chavs save money and pour a bottle or two of that over themselves once a week and save the trouble of washing, its really best not to get within a 100 foot of a chav female out on the hunt for a male to give her an illegitimate child,it has caused permanent nasal damage and loss of the sense of smell for many unfortunate people who have.
It may save you embarrassment and shame if you say your great, great, great grandfather was a 19th century missionary who went to darkest Strood in an attempt to save the godless savages, and that he took pity on and adopted a couple of baby Stroodites some harlot was trying to sell on the street for the price of a bottle of gin,and that your relatives are their descendants that returned to their roots, and are not blood relatives?
Oh no,that must have been a serious fright that caused you sleepless nights and nightmares of chavy Stroodites lurking in unexpected places?
Driving away was the best course of action,if you had stopped they may have spoken to you,and even worse, may have invited you round to visit?
Plus somebody may have seen you speaking to them, and realised they were not trying to con people into having their drives tarmac'd?
If they are from Strood they must be used to being hated?

Haha it sounds cool but I'm afraid I can't promise not to laugh ...I'm a very giggly person
Oh wow that sounds sooooo cool I'd love to do that XD I have a pair fingerless gloves that go up to the wrist with buckles and chains on that I think would look good in that shoot? I got your note by the way, thanks
I didn't have a horsey aroma lol! But I'm sure you did get a lot of strange looks from them :') I don't understand why their brains are wired up to be violent towards those who are not wearing trackies or getting neck strain from 9 carat gold chains from Argos.

I hope your headache is better now?
Think with photography you have to be tough on yourself really, there is no better way to improve your skills and knowledge than having a totally ruthless attitude to everything you shoot?
Myself,I can see faults in every single photograph I have ever taken, not one is what I would call good enough.
I have a 16 year old Greyhound called Boswell, plus a 5 month old Staffordshire Bull Terrier called Tyler who is extremely hard work to look after,he is at the chewing everything stage, and that includes live electrical wires and plugs and any part of my body he can bite.
Gave him one of those large marrow bone chews earlier, was expecting it to last him a few days, but in less than 5 minutes there was not a bit of it left,a few crunches and it vanished and then he decided to chew my arm instead.
Ok,perhaps if I leave the wig at home and demonstrate the poses without it,it may help you with the giggles?
Oh those gloves sound perfect, with the boots they will give a fantastic look with some extreme and bizarre make-up?
Are you sure about the horsey aroma?
I'm pretty sure none of those horsey girls knew they had a very strong smell of horse poo about them?
Sadly violence is all that lot know I believe, fear anything that is different seems to be their way?
To cut a long story short,I lived in Kemptown in Brighton for a while, that is the only place I have ever known that you can walk along the road dressed in whatever you like, and nobody wants to start a fight and anything is acceptable.
Can you imagine a man walking through Gravesend or Chatham in the summer wearing a sarong and eyeliner etc.?
You can go in the pubs and they are genuinely friendly with no trouble or chavvy types and a really nice atmosphere, obviously being Kemptown they are all gay pubs, but they are in a different world from the straight pubs, and if you ever want a peaceful and enjoyable night out I can highly recommend going to a gay pub.
Thats ok,hope you have managed to get some sleep as well as got rid of your headache?
I'm trying to catch up with my messages at the moment, not been on here much lately and they are starting to build up again!
