Luellen,

I really like your giant vibrator and would like to use it on t-shirts or as a poster to promote our lingerie boutique that carries some "toys".

I would of course list you as the artist and give you credit and I could pay you a fee for the right to use your image.

I don't have lots of money but I hope that we can work somthing out.

Let me know,

Dominique Garay

Wow, I love the stuff you got, I espcialy like your comic, but I'm wondering what's going on with the comic? I'm really loving the stuff going on with it and I'm really really hope the comic continues, though some of the links on the web page are broken, anyways.

I love the stuff and I also really like your art, hope things pick up and everything.

Hey,
I love your work, it's brilliant. I was wondering if you had any big projects in the near future? I'm writing a graphic novel and I was wondering if you were interested in drawing for it. Let me know if you have time.

there is a theory that fellow music students shared with me from a book they read. they were smoking cigarettes with green stuff in them, i was drinking an italian red liquid .... yes .... so the theory goes that each atom has a neutron made of several protons which is surrounded by electrons that go round and round around the neutron and forms a ring. the idea behind this is that the each ring every atom might a vibration of sound. So if everything is made up of atoms and that all of these atoms had sound vibrations around them, then it would suggest that the universe is held together by sounds - thus music ! being a music student, i was really happy to hear this. Music is the language and energy that i can comfortably speak with. what is the role of music ?

k bye.

Luellen In reply to soundassembler [2005-12-16 02:10:20 +0000 UTC]

all atoms vibrate, it is true. I'm no scientist but I know that applying heat, for example, causes atoms to vibrate faster as heat provides energy. Beyond that I'm out of my league, science-wise, but it's an interesting idea (even without the red liquids!) that there is some sub-audible music in atomic vibration - 'the music of the spheres', perhaps? Shame on me for not knowing where that quotation's from, if it's Wordsworth I may have to ban myself from saying it. I know there is a frequency below human hearing range which can produce vibrations in the eye and cause mild hallucinations - blurred shapes in peripheral vision. Could the same happen with atomic vibrations in some situations, and cause auditary hallucinations? I could go on for pages on this kind of thing, 'tis right up my alley. And there are people with synthesesia (sp?), which can involve 'seeing' music - seeing music as colour. A friend and a professor I know have it with words - they see words as colours. And that links right into painting and art...

i've been playing music (consciously) for 6 years and i do see music as color in my head. and after a while these colors become places. i don't think it's an hallucination. maybe more of an association your brain makes with certain sounds. It's incredible how music affects the human condition. The music of the spheres was a theory develped in greece by ... pythagorus ? not to sure, we convered that real quick at the beginning of the semester in music history. Something about how everything in the universe has a connection with music. (i'm very off with this lol .... stupid memory) Scientists recieved a sound vibration in B flat comming from a far away sun. this b flat was 32 octaves BELOW middle c ! holy crap, hearing that note right next to the source of the sound and your brain would blow up. lovely. B flat is a beautiful note.

Luellen In reply to soundassembler [2005-12-16 16:32:44 +0000 UTC]

I have no idea what b flat sounds like...I play all of, erm, zero musical instruments, can't read music either, shame on me! I love certain songs and pieces of music but I have no technical knowledge of how music works, which is something I envy you! One of my favorite pieces is the theme music from the film 'The Piano'; can't remember the composer, think it's called 'the heart must learn'? It's incredibly stirring.

Seeing music as colour must be wonderful. I agree it's not a hallucination, it's down to how individual brains wire up -- I tried to get my friend to explain how she sees words in colour, and she said systematic words, like days of the week, have fixed colours, while more abstract words change colour. My name, for example, she said, changed from red to pale blue. I saw an artist on tv who painted symphonies -- the paintings were beautiful explosions of colour, abstract colomn shapes. I sometimes associate music with places, ideas or actions, but I've never seen it as pure colour I am very unmusical! (Various people have tried to ban me from singing in public in the interests of public safety).

I know Jupiter gives off radio waves that you can listen to -- just sounds like static, as I understand, but it links in again with this music of the spheres idea -- I'm still trying to remember that phrase, I'm sure it crops up in a Romantic poem somewhere. Pythag sounds about right, or maybe Plato -- those Greeks churn out the ideas alright.

my favorite color is, sometimes yellow. when i was young it was my favorite color my mother said. It upset her because i paintedi n yellow and she couldn't see the pictures very well. i see a lot of music in yellow. especially happy tunes. but it all depends. what is your favorite color ?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Luellen In reply to soundassembler [2005-12-17 00:13:54 +0000 UTC]

depends on the situation! I used to love blue to the extent that I would always buy blue clothes if I could, and I would call it my favorite colour -- the deep azure blues and slate-blues particularly. My room is painted pale blue too I used to have a yellow and blue room but I found the yellow a bit much after a while, I think because I painted the ceiling yellow too...

For arty purposes, I find colour hard to do right and most of my stuff is black and white, or greys. I like grubby colours, like olive greens, blue-greys, browns, maroons, but sometimes bad taste makes me choose really bright clashing colours, which I can never make look good. *sigh*

I'd love to see music as colours...hasn't happened yet though. Is it all genres of music, or one in particular? I always imagine classical music would be the best for seeing colours.

classical music is the most simple of music. it has simply been heavily ornamented which makes it complex. but listen to any classical piece and any well trained musician can tell where the piece will be going.

you want colors ? listen to boards of canada - my favorite band. minimilistic electronic music that is nostalgic and melodic. they love to damage sound to make it sound like who knows what. They are 2 brothers that live in scottland in a somewhat reclusive manner. check it out - BOARDS OF CANADA.
