Hey! I recently read "Miles to Go" and absolutely loved it. skribleskrable explained to me that you were the one who wrote it so I figured you deserve some congratulations as well! I love how short and simple it is while also being very moving. I really admire artists who can pull this off and this is what I strive to do in my own work.
It's such a simple concept too, just re-doing a scene but with Linoa now aware of it and Squall going out of his way to tell her everything he never dared tell anyone else and it works really, really well. In my headcanon, Linoa could hear him even while comatose so she'd probably know all that, but now I've got to say I really like the idea that she couldn't and Squall would do this so she knows exactly how important she is to him.
Also, I remember being a teen and looking for FF8 fics to continue the adventure after beating what is still my favourite video game and being disappointed that almost everything I found was either Gary Stu self-inserts that kill off the main cast within the first paragraphs, stories where the characters act nothing like they did in the game and lose all of their charm and personality, really bad porn fics or a mix of the three, so to see people who actually understand what make these characters great and can write them consistently with their original selves to the point that it actually feels like a continuation of the original story is a breath of fresh air.
