Huh.... okay, so how is he weird, and how does he normally act around you? Another thing you'll wanna consider is his personality and interests. ie. Is he shy? Is he emotionally unavailable because of personal reasons? Is he trying to focus on something else? There could be so many possibilities...

He's a videogame nerd (which i have no problem with that) he's really random and blunt and says all the inappropriate things at the inappropriate times. and no he's just awkward. he isn't emotionally unavailable.. he's just...... weird

He sounds like he's similar to my boyfriend.
I would just try talking to him if I were you. You don't have to corner him about it, but just try to casually bring it up. If all you've got is honesty, by all means use it. The worst he can do is say no, but this is just my opinion of course.
