I've never been the type of person to sit down and want to work for a long time on a drawing. Idk, I have all these ideas but I dont want to actually take the time to do them =/ Yeah when I have free time, I usually just end up doing something else as well.

But I don't want them to be bland anymore so I work hard on shading and background now, so the time extends to a entire day XD
But yeah, your artworks surely have a look of taking such a long time to be finished, the results show it :,) They are gorgeous~

Two hours is a really good time for a drawing! But yeah I totally get the wanting to add more detail. I used to not put as much detail into mine, and then when I started doing that suddenly drawings just took SO MUCH LONGER. It sucks because it is so much easier to sit down and do a two hour drawing and have something complete than it is to be like "Im going to spend X amount of days on this one drawing" and then you end up getting bored of it or not having enough time and it just never gets done.
Like for example, when I was doing commissions, I always spent way more time on them than I did on my own work, and because of that I ended up getting really bored with them, but also they just took forever. Thats a big reason why I stopped taking commissions =/
For me it usually takes like anywhere from 5-8 hours to do a large drawing, such as a wallpaper or detailed art. Less time for smaller stuff, like 1-2 hours, and I dont usually end up putting backgrounds on smaller art because I end up getting bored and lazy xD Thank you for the compliments though <333
Look at how much I just typed xD Sometimes its just so easy to talk about stuff, especially when the other person will give you a decent response! I used to be able to sit down and write like novel length replies, but I've kind of lost the ability to do that (maybe not so much with this reply, its pretty long xD)
Nah, i never got the other job (I cry ;__; it was so PERFECT). Im looking into blood pattern analyst jobs right now, as well as possibly getting my private investigators license and working as a PI for a bit. I would really like to do that, but my mom keeps judging me >

Hm, commissions, working really hard for someone else with a hard demand must be really tiresome, getting bored of the drawing but still force yourself to finish because it was like a job that you had to do, I can understand why you stopped, drawing for yourself and for friends has much more freedom and less stress.

I work with making art for marketing and politics, design :,) It's really simple and I get money once a week, now that it's election time on my city, I've been having a lot of work, but on normal days I normally just chill X'P I enjoy it but will not be forever.

Aaaa the struggle is real lol xD I feel that, I hate spending that time, but if I dont then I hate how my art turns out.
Yeah commissions were tough =\ the money was nice, but it was just way too much time and effort for not enough money, so I gave it up. Now im just not able to draw at all though apparently. I have been working on a character ref for myself for like FIVE MONTHS that I haven't bothered to finish yet. Every time I go to do it Im just like "nah I'll do this later" I finally finished a gift I owed my friend tonight that I've owed her since CHRISTMAS. Im just so bad for this- putting off art I owe people. Just putting off art in general.
Sometimes I do that, with the short, one-word responses, but its usually if the comment I get is also a really short comment lol. If someone gives me a long reply tho, then youre damn well sure Im gonna give a long reply back xD I get it though, sometimes yeah I just dont have time to type a long response, but then I'll usually just wait to reply until I can give a proper one, rather than just type something quick out. It feels cheap to do that, you know? Lmao yes if there is one thing I've noticed about you (besides the fact youre awesome) is that you have the gift of writing xD (but I do too so its cool).
I know I was really hoping I would get it too. I was so looking forward to that job, but Im guessing they just hired internally, since it was a police service. Yeah I've been wanting to get my PI license forever lol. Nah my mom doesnt really judge, but shes like "is that really what you want?" and im like "yeah" Whats really holding me back is just the fact that it costs money lmao.
That sounds like a really cool job! Lol any job where you get to chill on a normal day sounds pretty good xP I thought about doing something like that at one point. I was actually in college for animation once, a long time ago. I dropped it for forensics though because I realized that if I had to do art as a job, I would get tired and bored of it the same way I got with commissions.

I am going through your way, never did any commissions though, but I do used to go on too many art trades and always finishing my part waaaay later than the other person, this started to make me feel a little bit stupid about myself :,p The art I receive was always much better than what I could do and I felt a little unmotivated because I couldn't reach the same level (of course they didn't mind at all, it was just me being a dummy about myself xD), this still is pretty recent though, but more and more a new day is added for me to finish something haha. You can draw and you do it amazingly OwO it's just this feeling getting in your way, and I gotta talk about of how much kind and great you are, always drawing for friends and not asking anything in return even though what you do can overwork you a lot, it's ok to wait this long to receive anything from you really, it's freaking good! So don't feel too bad or don't feel bad at all, the wait is surely so worthy with a chance of 100% satisfaction x,p I pretty much know that your friends keep in mind that you're human and needs time to focus on one thing ^^
I don't finish more than half of my sketches, so many ideas that I have but don't want to fully work on them, when I do decide to work on something there's always procrastination and "I will let it for tomorrow" times >\<

Man I hate when I do a drawing and I look at it after its done and its like "wow I really wish I spent more time on that" because now that drawing is going to haunt me for the rest of my life and I feel bad that I didnt give it 100%, but at the same time if I did I know I would have gotten bored of it xD
Sometimes I can get art done that I need to get done really fast, like birthday gifts and such,. But other times (especially with art for Yas) I just put if off forEVER. Being unmotivated to do art for any reason is just so tough because its like "yeah I'd really like to draw this" but theres no drive to actually do it. You just want it done without having to put the effort in xD
Im so bad for being like "oh I'll do it tomorrow" and then yeah another day gets added, and eventually that day becomes a week, and that week becomes a month etc...

Usually the only time I give a longer comment for a short one is if they asked a question xD theres nothing wrong with you for giving good replies though, its really nice! yeah I agree, Ill try and cover everything and add extra to keep conversation going. Its useful to reply when you can (even if it means I put off commenting for a few days) because then I can give good in depth replies and I dont feel so bad xD
