Yeah, MK has definitely been taking fighting game storylines to the limit.Β ArcSys, too, to be fair. Xrd story mode is pretty dang thorough.Β I hope all fighting games from now on follow suit...especially SF.Β The lore and relationships are there to be explored...the question is just whether they give a damn.Β In SF5 I think they just might put more effort into it, if Ono's past comments are any indication.Β Even he was impressed by MK9's story mode.Β Tekken...meh, my hopes are not very high.Β So many characters have been left stagnant for so long in that series, I don't know if they can be resuscitated.Β I'd love to be proven wrong, though...
But, MKX definitely spiced things up with some new young blood.Β Plenty of new shipping fodder for the masses, I'm sure!Β I see you're already investigating dat Takeda
Plus, I'm also digging the fact that female characters are so front and center.Β Cassie is like THE main character, Jacqui is her bad BFF, Mileena is a complete diva now, granny Sheeva showed up...
Of course, I hope Jacqui rises above "side kick", but for now I'm just stoked that she exists. I wish she were bigger, though lol.Β I mean, she's Jax's kid...it would be nice to have a female character who doesn't have the exact same body type as every other female in the game.Β But, again, beggars can't be choosers.Β An unquestionably black female character made it into a video game.Β Team COCOA would be proud.Β Tanya would still be sweet, too.Β The more the merrier
And, yeah, everyone seems to think that was Rain...not sure he'll be playable or not...
