Dude, I just heard of a book that I think you'd love. It's from a Seattle publisher, andΒ it's a comedic fantasy set in a version of our world where reality TV show heroes slay actual monsters and the gods have their own Twitter feeds, casinos, and media empires. The full title is Zeus Is Dead: A Monstrously Inconvenient Adventure. Yes, it sounds similar to Percy Jackson, but based on what I've heard, this one is more satirical.Β

Hey, dude. I have a bit of a question, might not be easy to answer: You've made a lot of friends here in a year, most (if not all) of whom are on your train of thought. How might I be able to find people like that? I've been very shy my entire life, and I need to be able to change that, 'cause that's what my psychiatrist says: Try to be more social. What did you do?

A scary amount of it is luck. That's true with making friends anywhere. Take us, we just happened to end up sitting together and playing with grandpa peanut. Most of the friends I have around here I have because they read my stuff and commented on it. We just got talking from there. However the shyness thing is a factor. Because yes, meeting at all is luck, but it's how you perceive the person and interact from there that you have some control over. The long and short of it is, meeting people needs to just happen. Getting to know them is the tricky bit.

Right now, I want to do an alternate history story for X-Men where Magneto did end up leading a mutant revolution against humanity that ultimately failed. Stryker controls everything, most mutants have their powers inhibited and are put to slavery, etc. Very post-apocalyptic. So, I should find, like, a superhero fan club. I'm sure there's one out there.
