Hey man! Yes I am . I am studying Industrial Design in Denmark right now, but my dream is to go to Pforzheim or ACCD. I really like your approach to it all, seems like you are doing your own thing!

That's awesome! I'm currently at ACCD, I hear very good things about Pforzheim as well! The main down-side of ACCD is the cost but it's really a top school for Industrial Design ( I think I must've gotten in on pure luck hahaha.) The other competing school here is CCS, through ACCD is in the middle of it all, from all the California car studios to all the Hollywood stuff (since there is an entertainment design program here too)

It's funny, I'm not actually in it for cars unlike everyone else in my major, but I've always loved all forms of transportation: originally I was going to go into mechanical engineering but it's way too dull and has no creative element. Industrial design is the perfect balance - a visit to the Polaris design studio is what sealed the deal for me, I knew after that visit what I needed to do! So yes, I definitely do my own thing, my main focus are more functional vehicles (ATVs utility vehicles etc) as well as super conceptual stuff (like the submarine I designed for the Marine class.) And then of course a lot of my on-the-side stuff shows up in my DA gallery, dragons and such!

Good luck, and I'm sure you could get into school, it's really all practice - and you can sketch. The Viscom skills will be hammered into you anyways for the lower terms, but the stronger you start off, the more time and effort you can allocate to the more creative aspect of the projects!

Wow what a reply! My dream job would be in the California car studios, seems so cool what they do!
I am maybe not as much into the conceptual as you, but I really would like to make the concept cars of the future or be a guy like Daniel Simon, if you know him .

It's cool that they shake things up a bit with who gets into class, they also have a new course on future of transportation right?

My main issue with Art Center is the money as you say. I just don't have it, since we in Denmark go by paying high taxes, so everyone can get into a university (we receive about 800 Dollars for studying each month). Therefore no one has saved money for school. So I think I will have to find another way than ACCD sadly! But thanks for the kind words!

I know Daniel Simon, yup! That type of field would be SUPER FUN, I agree!

Future of transportation? There are a few classes like that, Mobility is in a way about that (well it's supposed to be, the projects don't always turn our though) and in general the concepts are set in the future. If it's a night class, I probably don't know it xD

I studied bachelor of fine arts in animation in the middle of my course I really then knew I wanted to be an industrial designer so for me alot the stuff I learn is online from Scott Robertson , Feng Zhu they are both my main inspirations

Syd Mead is also just amazing! Good to know I am not the only one with those 3 as my main inspirations. Also Daniel Simon, I love his clean futuristic work. Looking forward to se his plane!

I am doing great studying Industrial Design here in Denmark. Sadly there are no transportation design, so I will start by finishing a Bachelor here, and then try to get in on a master or something like that .

haha yeah man ^^ i'm nearing the end of my sophomore year now its really great here but god DAMN do they work you like dogs. its just been like one long day with a couple of naps in between lol
so insanely busy..
and omg man don't get me started, i can't bear to read the way i used to react to criticism when i was younger, i'm really hoping you can forgive me for back then haha

Ah cool! Well they have some high demands, like you have to have had 6 months of work experience. Also I haven't really seen your sketches. They mostly look for stuff made by hand and also other stuff than car design. Well that's what I have heard .
