# About me
A creative soul with some sort of attention disorder that leads me to feel I have to be able to make everything, and sometimes all at the same time!I began as a blacksmith, taught myself armouring, dabbled in the film industry and have now begun a sideline in bronze-smithing. If it's beautiful, elegant or even sometimes lethal I love to create it.

Amazing gallery, dig your style. Also not to many wax carvers around that carve so clean.

You're welcome, it's a beautiful photo and I have recently developed a fascination for anything skull related and am planning a few momento mori jewellery pieces

Hello Mathias im a huge fan of the medieval art of arms, id like to ask do you do any commision work? Id like to order a pole axe

I do take on commissions, though not for swords, but poleaxes/lucerne hammers are still my area though I'm fairly busy right now.

Ok i can understand that, but what about armor, could you make me a milanese breast plate with back plate a really nice one, but keep in mind my budget is a bit tight, or how much would you charge for the german armor, id pay 800 Euros would that be fair?

Love your work! Your website link isn't working, btw.
I'm curious, since you are getting into bronzecasting, have you thought of casting some classic bronze weapons or armor?

Thanks, link issue should be rectified.
I'd need a different set up for casting larger items like weapons, while armour was primarily work from sheet/plate. I certainly want to cast a bronze axe still!

Hunh, I guess I need to do more research! I was under the impression that bronze breastplates were cast and ground, and that was one of the reasons they were so expensive, casting such large items.
I for one want a bronze shortsword, and to see how it would really fair against iron weapons and armor. There seems so much debate over whether bronze was displaced because iron was BETTER, or simply CHEAPER and more mass produced, and I'd love to see some actual testing.

I saw some testing using a bronze sword against an iron one, the bronze sword put some pretty big notches in the iron blade, it was an interesting test it would have been better testing each blade against cutting at flesh and bone and against shields to really check superiority.
I have read suggestions of casting helmets in the rough and then hammering to work harden and form the finer details. I've seen a cuirass some time ago that was cast but it was not a practical armour piece (two wide at the chest to move!). I'd be interested in the source for the casting armour, I don't think we'll ever have a definitive answer unless we find the holy grail of all metal working archaeology, the preserved workshop!
Thanks for the Watch.
