# About me

Hello!

My name is Maya Smith. Creativity and vibrant colors have surrounded me for as long as I remember. Growing up, I would sit for hours watching my mother paint all types of murals. This led me to begin pursuing my own path. All throughout grade school I took any type of art/creative class I could... From drawing, to sculpting, web design, and even filmmaking! Currently I am a student in the Bay Area studying Sonography and all things science, but I still love to produce artwork on the side.
I moved to California because of a serious health condition, and I believe that is why I decided to pursue the medical career instead of arts. Helping and inspiring others is what makes me happy. Through my degree and my art, I believe I can achieve just that.
As far as materials go, I experiment with pretty much everything. I love trying new things to learn and expand upon my art. I use watercolors, acrylics, oil pastels, and colored pencils. Both air dry and oven bake clay are used for various ceramic projects.
