The henna doesn't take as well to my skin when it's colder. I enjoy it any time of year though.

sorry for the late reply! its been busy.

I do know what you mean . . henna does require warm body temps to turn out properly . . . and in winter this is a challenge! but when you can pull it off, it does make the cold seem less dreary. ^_^

here . . . um . .. as for best stain, I've found that as long as the area is properly prepped (exfoliated, etc) the stain nearly always is a medium dark color. of course, that might also be the quality of my henna! lots of different factors influence stain color. as far as where to start? I normally start in the center of any design and work my way out either left to right or in a spiral . . depending on the actual dimensions of the design. and as far as visualizing goes, are we talking freestyle design as opposed to set pattern? for me, freestyle (also referred to by my clients as letting me "go nuts") normally just evolves on its own for any number of strange reasons. I do tend to have some normal pattern styles that I always employ (namely traditional designs) and they tend to mesh rather well in freestyle. I'll often begin in the center with a lotus or a paisley and just go from there. hope that helps!

here, I'm in the US. two of the links above have consistently fine powder, they would be BodyArts and Castleart. an actual brand name I know is findable in the US would be Jamila (in case you are hunting around on ebay or whatnot). other than that, I just sift mine like does. hope that helps!

You can sifted your powder with an old stocking, i put mine in a jelly pot to avoid the dust. But the best way is to find fine powder already sifted. To find the best powder, i have tried all that i can find, but i guess you haven't got many henna seller. You can also order for henna in internet, just search henna on google...I sell good henna but the shipping will be important for the USA

that does suck hun! was it the metal type for the bottles? if so, just a little suggestion for the future: .05 metal tip from an automatic pencil. seriously! I cannibolized several of mine from pencils that no longer worked right. and they're perfect!

That is a great idea, but the tip was connected to the cap and all that stuff and the whole thing is just gone. I'll have to buy a new one unless you figured a way to use the mechanical pencil tip with something else... Thanks though, that's a great idea for a start.

actually . . they fit rather nicely on the ends of small puff paint bottles!! yes, I am nothing if not flexible and ingenius!! comes in handy some days. can you tell I've had to improvise before?
