So which Ringling thesis is the most impressive to you?

The Clocktower, definately. Though I have a bias against comedy animations; it seems very nearly impossible to avoid the cliches.

The Clocktower is definately one of the more ambitious efforts, although I don't understand the meaning.
As for comedy, ya I know what you're saying. Seems like 90% of the thesis films are comedies, and the cliches are everywhere. But at the same time, legitimate comedy is a rare thing.

It's about the pain and joy of being separated from your creations or your responsibilities. Most obviously, it could serve as a metaphor for parenting, or the nature of the divine.

I have less expierence with those, as I've worked exclusively in traditional 3d apps. However, from what I've heard, ZBrush is the most powerful choice, while Mudbox is somewhat easier to learn.

Some of the stuff is pretty intimidating, but their is a pretty broad range of talent there. The stuff in Critique Center is far less scary.
Plus, a bit of intimidation keeps you motivated.
