Tbh, I had a bit of a meltdown. Birthday blues have been an issue for me for a few years now. Still, my husband cheered me up afterward and we had fun, and I got a loving reminder from a few other people that they're happy I've made it through another year.ย

I wish things could've worked out for you guys. I remember you saying some time before that he'd had some reservations about the relationship, before you'd gotten married, but I had hoped that sort of thing would resolve itself.

Well. Someone kind and sweet and earnest and seemingly very, very trust worthy swooped in and spent a year convincing me to trust and love again, picking up the shattered pieces and putting them back into place even though I resisted vehemently at first... and then in the same month as my ex-husband, nearly on the anniversary of that awful day, after I trusted him completely... he chose to do the one thing he promised me he'd never do to me, and left me with the same words on his lips. "I don't love you anymore."ย
God, I would laugh if it didn't hurt way too bad to find it funny. Life has a poetic way of kicking me when I'm already down, and trying to stay down.
And on a... comparatively inconsequential, but at least related note; I think at this point, the month of October is permanently ruined for me.
