Appearance: Mint has ear-length, [somewhat curly] pale blond hair, with the ends flipped up on either side, and pale pinkish red eyes. His complexion is pale to the extreme [being albino] and if he stays out in the sun for too long, he will burn really easily. He stands at about 5'3. He's underweight, weighing about 90 lbs-- which also makes him quite frail [he is also an alcoholic]. He has a couple of missing/chipped teeth, but they're sort of crooked anyways.
Personality: Mint is far from being the most pleasant person to be around. He's snarky, mischievous, and prone to rudeness. He's also rather pessimistic and hateful. He doesn't trust people easily. He's also mostly illiterate.
Clothing: His favorites are fancy suits in dark violet and dark red-- with black dress pants. He also loves to wear fancy top-hats. Under the coat of a suit, he wears a white buttoned dress top, with a red vest over that. Oh, and a hair-clip with a single 'eighth' music note on it.
Likes- MONEY, gold and other precious metals, jewelry, gemstones, the color violet, cats, birds, valuable things, learning things [surprisingly], red wine, and hats.
Dislikes- GIRLY THINGS, when people make remarks on his intelligence, slutty women, red hair, red-haired women, talking about himself, the sun, heat, cold, any food that isn't bland in taste and smell, being so darned pale, and others that I can't think of at the moment.
Potential- Shadow Reflection
Powers- Shadow manipulation, Mint can change into a shadow, or silhouette, as well as several 'solid' forms. [What is physics.] His favored forms are that of a small, dark blob, a large dark mass, or a solid humanoid shadow thing. On small scale he is good at shaping shadows into things, but on the large scale [and for his own form] he is not. [yet] He can also go 'into' shadows, inside being a 'negative mirror' of the world created by the absence of light, which he can control. [aka, a shadow, and light projection itself]
History- [subject to change for development]
Mint's mother was a prostitute who had once been a rising star in swing-dancing, but due to an accident, her career had to be put on hold. However, her dance partner [whom she had been in a relationship with] refused to wait the months that it would take for her to heal, replaced her and left her with nothing . Heartbroken, she drowned her sorrows with booze-- and eventually ended up in the Oedris slums, selling her body to get by.
After a couple of years and many tries and several miscarriages, she was finally able to conceive a child without a positive rhesus blood-type-- that would be Mint. Her sole reason for having a child? The government was paying women to have children-- to keep the population steady because of its conflict with another country.
He was not treated very well by his mother who took her frustrations in life out on him-- and often neglected him when she left their small 2nd floor condominium for days on end.
Mint was also teased as a child for being so soft spoken and frail. The people of the Oedris slums weren't known for their friendliness.
When Mint was just about five years old, his life changed quite drastically, all after a string of hapless coincidences, [and the first time his shadow potential had peaked high enough to become solid for a small amount of time] his mother ended up dead, and he ended up homeless.
At the age of six, after wandering the streets for a year, Mint was taken in by a kind widower, Reinald Tearlàch who was a carpenter, and raised alongside the carpenter's own son, Corbin. But after three years, when AOPE 'officials/recruiters' came knocking, the carpenter gave up Mint in favor of his own son.
One thing to know, is that in the world of Volatensus, everyone has a thing called 'potential', something that can be 'unlocked' for a person to gain an ability according to that potential. Not many humans are known to completely unlock their potentials naturally, but AOPE has had processes developed [albeit potentially lethal ones] to do the task-- and children, with their developing potentials, are the easiest to have unlocked.
Sectioned off like lab experiments, the young 'recruits' are put through the long series of painful processes of extracting the potential and harnessing it, but most members are killed at this stage. [The extraction processes have a high fatality rate.]
Members are eventually once again, sectioned off into smaller groups for various tasks and assignments; they are the artillery for the corrupted government.

Mint would probably wake up on the couch in the basement. Koi had hauled her down there after the little outburst in the kitchen. He was slumped in his work chair next to the couch with a fresh bandage around his arm. After Mint had passed out the blob tried to attack, but Koi and Brave managed to quell the fight before it got too bad. When everything was done with he thought it would be a good idea to keep an eye on her for the night. Just to make sure nothing else happened. So a nice spot on the couch with a patchwork rag of a blanket and a glass of water on the side table. Next to it was a note.
