# About me
Michal J. Gabrial Rodak was born January 1, 1990 in Poland. Michal is an educated art historian, illustrator, writer and philosopher by passion. One year after his studies at the university in Poland he decided to follow his inner voice and move to Spain. Michal currently lives, works and is continuing his education in Spain.Artist Statement
When I was 4 years old my grandmother asked me a question, what would you like to be when you grow up? I replied that I would like to be an artist.
However, I was told that artists lead ungrateful lives full of hardships, so I reconsidered briefly on my decision, and opted to become a doctor. Twenty years later I can say I turned out to be an incredibly stubborn child.
Art absorbs me, for it is the field in which I can fee free. Furthermore, I perceive art as a universal means to multidimensional exploration of reality. My feelings toward art may be characterized as some sort of message traveling through centuries on the one hand, and on the other it passes from the artist’s inner world to external reality. To put it simply, it is a peculiar bridge between micro and macro cosmos. Art in my view is the patchwork of an undetermined shape, which incorporates psychology, philosophy, history, physics, and many more disciplines. However, what is essential is that in the very center of if all is beauty.
My personal experience of art is within the four walls of my studio, where my artistic activity is an adventure of a lifetime. Every single day I discover a new horizon, which makes me realize that beyond is infinity of fascinating entities, which remain beyond my grasp even if I were to live a thousand years.
I do not consider myself an artist. I do not find the word as an adequate expression to define an occupation. I think of it more in terms of life philosophy, in which instead of aiming at practical skills, more focus is put on creativity. To live creatively that is my goal, and I hope that my artistic activity would evolve as well told by a story narrated by images.
