Oh I am so pleased to be treated like a teacher by that expired soy based product's spouse.
I actually go once every two years with family, and the last twos times occurred in summer months so it was humidly hot. If you plan on going in the summer, please purchase insect repellant sprays to protect yourself from mosquito, because their stings leave uncomfortable itches for days. Food is yummy though, and the fast food chains from here like pizza hut actually carry a lot more different stuff but yummy too. You can get takoyaki pizza toppings BUWAHAHA....
And my dear, as in any place except for the mmorpg fantasy realms (thats not even true, i just wanna write something HAHA) please do not ever publicly declare you have a lot of money. I would fear GREATLY for you and sleep shivering at night as I imagine the immense, unfathomable danger that may trap you if you did so.

Okay, another question! (Good answers before, Taiwan teacher!)
Does Taiwan smell like piss? Tofu is saying that parts of China totally smell like piss.
Are things decently cheap, or is actually kind of expensive in Taiwan? I know Taiwan likes to call them so separate from China, but I'm not sure of the economy is that separate.
Do most people there speak Mandarin, or is Taiwan technically considered one of those big tourist spots where I can see a lot of foreigners around, like Hong Kong?

This is probably the same thing, but it smells more like sewers to me if you walk besides the sewer openings. Do watch out for stray dog poops though.
Food is pretty cheap and there are small cheap clothing stores too, as well as various general items like stationery. Do bring stomach medicine though just in case as for all traveling emergencies. It's getting better but some food stands aren't very hygienic so my parents usually choose the food stands that look more careful about their cleanness in food handling, as well as if they have an actual kitchen. Use your best judgement. There are expensive stuff though at the malls and if you tour Taipei 101, just go there for sightseeing because the actual stores inside the mall portion sell Western prestige brands, which will obviously be way more expensive due to importing.
Most people speak mandarin and thankfully, there's quite a lot of English signs too hahah~ I was raised here so I can't read a lot of Chinese characters but there's quite a lot of English to soothe me. You do see foreigners too and I'm sure you can run into some young looking people or students to ask them in English if needed. (There will definitively be accents though so prepare for that.)
Final tip, cross the street carefully and watch for cars/motorcycles. 8D That and beware of roaches, especially red roaches with wings.
And yups, I'm Taiwanese so I visit once every two years with my parents. 8D *hurls self at you for a hug without permission*
