Poland is a very weird country ^^ and has many characteristic features so, if you can, please, specify, what do you exactly want to know.
There are links to films about history of Poland. The films are quite well done in terms of historical accuracy. Of course, there aren't every details
This one was displayed on Expo 2010 in Shanghai: [link]
The important people in Polish history:[link]
History: [link]
Unfortunately, there are many anti-Polish comments below the film.
History:[link]
I give two films about history because in one is something that was not in another.
Enjoy ^^
As for the history, we're awesome, lucky bastards ^^

Weather changes very often. In last year there were lot of floods because of heavy rains. It's raining now too but I think it won't be floods.
Yesterday on Kasprowy fell snow and on the top people made snowman. Kasprowy Wierch is one of tops in Tatra Mountains - southen Poland.
Snow in July is quite abnormal.
Poland lies in mild temperature zone - between continental zone (east) and maritime zone (west). From east usually come heats in summer and frosts in winter.
From west usually come rains.
Seasons change in a visible manner. I especially adore autumn - when colourful leaves fall from trees, wind blows and then (November) is rainy.
The larges city and also capital is Warszawa. I don't like using English Warsaw but it's pertinent name: War-saw.
Previously Kraków was a capital but in 1596 king Sigismung the Third Vasa moved the capital to Warsaw.
First capital was Gniezno but the times of Mieszko I and his sons and grandsons, ducal court lived in Poznań because Gniezno was built on the hill and it was hard to enlarge the city.
After peasants' uprising and attack by Russia and Germany (about 1031) and four-year interregnum Casimir I the Restorer came back to Poland. Gniezno was destroyed by Bohemians and Casimir concluded that Kraków was better capital for now.
Our cities are mixture of modern high-rise buildings and old architecture. Around the old markets are old tenements (especially beauty in Wrocław: [link] )
It's hard to describe the cities.
In Kraków there are Wawel - kings' of Poland residence, the oldest market in Europe,
Sukiennice (it's a building where merchants could sell their stuffs, Church of St.Mary ([link] and [link] ).
Every day at noon, from the window of the highest tower bugler plays heynal - in remembrance of legendary bugler who died when he tried to forewarn the citizen against the Tatar attack. Town was saved and since this time heynal is played. It ends abruptly because, according to legend, one of the Tatars shot bugler's throat by arrow - heynal:[link]
I must add that when the disc replacement was making in the Old Market, found skeletons, artifacts and the foundations of old buildings - things precious and unique.
Construction work changed the architectural excavations and now we can admire effects - unterneath the plate of Old Market, in the basement of market, modern and awesome museum has been opened. I was there. It was great.

After the II WW Warszawa was totally destroyed. [link] - it's a film from Warsaw Uprising Museum. It sees how did Warszawa look after the war. It was 1945.
In communism, the city rebuilt, but it wasn't economically developed significantly. The Palace of Culture and Science was built but Warszawa's citizens don't like it.
The Palace was built 'as compensation for damage caused by the Russians' but people think it's rather a punishment for winning the battle in Warsaw.
Communism ended in 1989 and since this year the construction of modern skyscrapers started but their locations is quite chaotic and it doesn't look like well, compared with older buildings.
Now it looks like that: [link]
I heard the idea that during the Euro 2012 make an street exhibition of pictures of post-war Warsaw to tourists saw that this is not a backward town, but is immediately rebuild.
The other important towns are: Gdańsk (by the sea), Poznań, Łódź, Szczecin, Wrocław, Toruń.
The next part I will write later. There are so many interesting things to write and I do not know what to choose.

I'm sorry that I haven't answered but I was busy and I couldn't write a sensible sentence in English.
Yesterday I had a fever so I don't feel well.
It's hard to express (even in Polish) what I love most about being Polish but I decisively adore our history, landscapes, kitchen and culture.
History is simply awesome and I have put links to films about history in my previous comments.
Lanscapes are fantastic too.
It's one of the most popular and known mountains - Giewont. [link]
From this side it looks like a sleeping knight.
We have a legend that under the Giewont in the underworld there are army of sleeping knight which would awake when Poland were in danger.
On the Giewont's 'mouth' there is a huge cross.
Another Giewont view: [link]
Morskie Oko (literally 'Marine Eye') - lake in Tatra: [link]
Dolina Chochołowska (Chochołowska Valley) in Tatra: [link]
In the spring there are a lot of crocuses: [link]
One of our traditions is the supper in Christmas Eve. Before the meal we read the a passage from the gospel of St. Luke, about the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem and then we have a little waffles (in Polish this special kind of waffles is called 'opłatki'), share them and wish to each other.
The traditional soup that every mother makes in Christmas Eve is borsch with eye-dumplings.
Eye-dumplings (in Polish 'uszka') are little dumplings stuffed with cabbage and mushrooms.

I adore our language ^^ I think that Polish is one of the hardest languages.
Almost everything is inflected, for instance:
verbs inflect for genders, numbers, persons, tenses and moods.
Nouns inflect for numbers (Singular and Plural) and grammatical cases (7 cases this means that one noun can have in sum 14 versions).
This is a Polish demotivator. The picture shows words derived from word 'czytać' (to read) - mostly adjectives and participles.
Desciptions: 'It's interesting how do the foreigners feel, learning Polish'.[link]
This is a guy who narrate why he wants to learn Polish: [link]
This is a part of the old Polish comedy movie 'How I Unleashed World War II'.
The main hero, Franek Dolas (guy with black hair), was arrested by the Gestapo.
The German policeman (blonde guy with swastica) asked Franek about his name and residence.
Franek wanted to play a prank on German and he gave a false (but extremly hard to say) name:
Grzegorz Brzęczyszczykiewicz,
Chrząszczyżewoszyce powiat Łękołody.[link]
Generally, most foreigners end their adventure with the learning of Polish language in the knowledge of inflection.
XD

Wow, Polish history is pretty awesome In our history class, one of our major topics was Communism in Crisis and we learned about Lech Wałęsa and Solidarity. My best friend and I did a presentation about it with the whole Gdansk protests, martial law, Jaruzelski, Round Table talks, elections and everything I greatly admire Lech Wałęsa.
How is Poland like? How's the weather, the cities, the people, the religions, government and such. How do you see Poland?
