wow do i vacillate between taking myself too seriously and not taking myself seriously at all. i'm from the south of USA, moving to the northwest of USA asap. the only pictures i like of me are profiles in bad lighting so u can only see half my face, apparently. i periodically submit poems. it might just, you know, take a little while, but apparently i'm always coming back. i'm eighteen now, graduating high school in a couple of months. um. i appreciate all of you guys so much i could never tell you enough.lovelovelove

from one poet to another I have to say that out of all the poems I've ever read here or anywhere yours are the most compelling and profound. i cried reading them and that usually never happens. your writing is so raw and so beautiful and I can feel everything through your work. I read your "Mili" poem just now and I actually found it very relatable and it really spoke to me in an odd way even though I don't know Mili personally. I a had/have a friend that means everything to me and if I went too long without talking to her I just couldn't be happy. It's funny how before meeting them we exist on our own but afterwards they become an essential part of our existence like water or oxygen. She moved two years ago not long after we became really good friends and I didn't know what to do with myself anymore. I didn't know how I could keep functioning without her there. I think you can identify with me that when it comes to losing someone it changes you in a way that is unpredictable and painful. Sometimes it feels like death or a break-up even if it was just a move. It's because they make us so happy and we get used to feeling good and exited for life so that when they get pried from our lives it comes crashing down like thunder.
I don't know, maybe you can't relate to this but I was just inspired by your poem and I thank you for sharing the precious memories and Mili with the DeviantArt world. Thank you.

I just read your "ace of spades" piece recently, and I absolutely fell in love with it. I identify currently as a grey-aromantic pansexual, so some of what you said really resonated with me because my friends are all part of LGBT+ communities. It's just wonderful reading something that finally sheds light on sexualities that many don't know.Β
I wrote
.Β Β "That was amazing." he smiles as he utters the words, leaning comfortably on his elbows.
Β Β I notice that he always tells me this after our passionate rendezvous -- not that I mind, of course -- I was willing to take that compliment any day. Not to mention, it wasn't like I'd disagree. His sexual prowess was certainly impressive.
Β Β I offer him a noncommittal smile as he sits upright, before reaching underneath my bed to grab a pack of Marlboros and a lighter from God-knows-where; pulling out aΒ cigarette and fanning the flames directly below it. As soon as it catches fire, he inhales deeply, and I revel in the smell of his aftershave and smoke.Β

Β Β Mimicking his position, I gesture for him to place one in my mouth, and he does, lighting it; a ghost of a smile etches on his lips as he sees me breathe the vapors back out. These are the kind of days that I enjoy most, the type where neither of us are talking, simply Β as a response piece.

You probably get this all the time, but if you were to publish a book, I would buy like ten of them. You have such a gift of putting words together in a beautifully authentic way and I really admire you for it.

you have the gift of letting people read about pain without them wanting to pull open their throat to get some air in. when i read your words that remind me of my own pain, i don't have the urge to sink into the ground. i want to talk and think about healing. and that's a really good thing.Β

I read some of your work, and then I tried to go back to reading other writer's poems, and they bore me and they don't touch me the way yours do.
And if you ever publish a book, I will buy copies for all my friends and everyone that needs to hear something beautiful.

and also, i love andrea gibson's poetry, "a letter to the playground bully" is one of my all-time favorites from her. C: used to have about five of her poems memorized just in case there ever came an opportunity to recite her work. "class" was pretty cool, too.
