For me, it's the characters. It's a great coming-of-age tale and there are so, so many characters, each with a very unique and detailed background. Then, after we're launched into their world of the present, all of the characters grow and learn and change. To me, it's a lot like real life where you are surprised by the reality of some things, but also where you find friendship where you least expect it. I suppose you have to have read it all to see what I mean.

Huh, that's kinda deep.. yeah I started the manga, but I haven't read it in a while. Maybe I'll try to read them all, but, that's gonna be ALOOOT of reading!... :/

The original text? Like, the official translation or do you mean Japanese? I use mangareader.com because I prefer the fan translations. The "official" translation censors some things.

The only thing the fan translation changes is the language. I have the first 35 or so volumes of the "official" translation, if you want to read them.

So r u saying that the fan translation is basically like the "uncensored" version? Cuz I've read a little Naruto online, and then found the actual manga at Books-a-Million, and flipped through it, and some of the dialogue seemed to be different, besides just censoring language; like, I don't remember the exact wording, but I seem to remember the version online saying something like"he doesn't acknowledge me", while in the actual book it said something like "he despises me."

If you want to read the eloquent version, read the "official" manga... if you want to read the accurate version, read the scanlations. It's not any more official than the scanlations, it's just published with a license rather than hosted online.
