For a starter, you should...
1. Use bases. When you get familiar to it, you can draw by-yourself (no base) like me ^^Also, when you draw no-base, you should sketch first. Draw a circle as the head of a pony then draw a pony with that circle and add her hair, tail, etc~ 
2. Go make friends. It's very easy though... Going around, find someone you like and watch them, fav them or comment. You can also pm (note) the one you'd like to make friends~
3. Draw xD. Like, do art trades, requests, commissions or just gifts for the ones you like. It will help your relationship to friends or with the one you like.
