Across here it's fine I guess, spring is coming up, and I miss the snow, although I am one of the few left I guess. Other than that it's English studies all the way right now, aiming for translator at the moment.

You miss the snow? >.> That's a new one, everyone around here can't wait for the warmer wather, myself included. Not that I can actually complain, the last week or so has been pretty comfortable temp wise, alittle rain and wind but nothing else. Good luck on the studies, and I hope you reach your goals! I'm glad to hear things are going well for you^^

Myself, getting geared up to a help a friend in an up coming rescue that will probably turn into the Shitstorm of all time, lol. But hey, things have been quiet for so long all I said was "Bring It On" when she asked. Other than that its work and finding time to play. Making plans for the summer and hoping we'll be able to keep them.

Alla har vi ju ett vanligt liv utanför våra hobbys.

Försöker i alla fall. Metallsmide hade varit förbaskat kul att försöka lära sig på något sätt dessutom.

Tänkte att jag skulle försöka sätta ihop lite utrustning för en typ 1000/1100-tals-krigare, så jag håller på att leta lite smått efter nåt slags mönster för en gambeson. Du har inga idéer på var man kan hitta nåt sådant?

Har dessutom gått i lite funderingar på om man skulle orka sätta ihop en nitad brynja själv, får se hur det blir på den fronten. >,<

alltså om man har råd är de lätt värt att bygga sin egna nitade brynja

Skall gambesonen vara historisk eller för lajv?
För till lajv finns det oändligt med mönster

Jo, jag kan tänka mig det. ^_^ Det är väl så att om man ska bygga en nitad så blir väl slutkostnaden ungefär samma som en vanlig?

Jag hade tänkt att gambesonen skulle vara något som är mer historisk antar jag, något som skulle fungera i kombination med en brynja i blankvapenstrid. Antar att jag har mer nytta av en historisk gambeson som jag kan använda på lajv sen kanske? Hade tänkt ha en knävid-ish gambeson och sedan en nitad brynja över den. Tänkte mig nåt normand-stil/huscarl-aktigt. Håller på att titta runt lite om oilka bildkällor, men för tillfället är det ganska tomt på det med. Tänkte beställa efter några osprey-böcker som tar upp normander och saxare.

Mönster/vägledning tas emot med öpna armar vilket som.

Sedan vet jag inte vart slut kostnaden landar om man gör nitade brynjor, men biligt är de nog inte, har bara gjort vanliga i fjäderstål. men jag tror inte går lika många ringar till en nitad så som till en fjäder. men vet inte.

Nice. Although I think you should try it. Aren't you British? Should be tons of clubs and the like practicing swordsmanship in different forms. Fun as hell when you find the type of weapon that you like to use.
