I read above that you wish to drop your formal art studies. If it's not impacting your other studies I'd like to suggest keeping them up. This is one of those things where the value of the lesson becomes apparent down the road a piece and when least expected. The discipline gained from doing what is required rather than what you wish to do somehow cements the techniques in place. Afterwards you can apply them however you wish. Does that even begin to make sense? In areas not even related to art it prepares you to produce results according to specification without sacrificing personal integrity in the process.

Ah you do make a valid point. After getting my AS results back for it, I'm kind of torn - I managed to get an A in it. Also, I'm getting a sparkling new DSLR for my birthday in 6 weeks and it would be a great excuse to go out and use it a lot.
