The "growing as an artist" part of deviant art is a bit of a shaky premise if you ask me, because you never get more than one comment unless your art is already good. And then usually that comment is really unhelpful. I love the tutorials and such on here though. And it's such a concentrated amount of people with interesting hobbies! I was going to put my stuff back up, but I look back at it and I don't like any of it. Lol. I will get better! *is determined*

oh, no i read the whole thing. very interesting. i just needed a place to put my photography. and then i drew some stuff. i only submit every few weeks or so. krystal could get you an avatar, she got me mine

Lol. All the languages I have NOT attempted to learn. Aw man...

I'm also trying to learn Japanese so I can understand anime. I have an okay accent in japanese because of my family, so all I have to worry about is the grammar, the writing, the vocabulary, and idioms, and manners!

...

Basically, I am understandable in japanese only when I say certain phrases. This has led to many an awkward moment.

Grandma: I want you to meet my friend, Michiko.

Obscure family member: Konnichiwa.

Me: Konnichiwa. Nihongo-ga wakarimasen, gommenasai.

Obscure family member: Hai, *insert random japanese words I don't understand*

*everyone stares at me expectantly*

Me: *panics*

omg, cool! i always want to say hi to you at school but i panic and decide not to, sorry im kinda shy

i'm kinda like that when speaking malayalam(indian language) but i can kinda improvise, somewhat..

and btw my neighbor is japanese and her name is Machiko (slight difference)
she works with mattel (barbie) incorporation and gives me free barbies i dont like some of them though...

Don't worry about saying hi! I used to be like that at my old school and I still do it sometimes now as well. I'll see some one and try to greet them, but all that comes out is a small strangled noise. I usually break eye contact and pretend I wasn't trying to talk to whatever person it was.

Dolls can be delightfully creepy at times, can't they? Must be because they were originally meant to represent dead people...

Lol. I have this morbid fascination for creepy items, music boxes in particular.

How do you improvise in a language? I once tried that in french and everyone gave me weird looks. I wonder what I said. XD.

i can improvise because everyone understands some english so i mix english into it. it sounds and feels weird but people are okay with that and they give me a break because im from los angeles
as for understanding something i can't understand, i just kind of guess according to facial expressions and other word clues lol jsut my luck ahaha

I once improvised an adjective that was... insulting to say the least. It was used to describe animals being put out to pasture. Arg!

i went to that father-daughter picnic (which i disliked)
and i had my birthday party, which was hello kitty themed. i only invited family and friends from my old school. next year im going to have it at a resaurant so i can invite lots of people! that would be great fun
and today i am going to attend a funeral! good luck studying for history (tip - its better to study your notes than the book, i learned this the hard way)

Those colors are very pretty. ^_^

I like grey because it doesn't hurt your eyes like white, but is not "the absence of light" like black. It also is very aesthetically pleasing, and reminds me of my favorite weather. I could go on, but I'll spare you. XD.

Not grey days,(though I like those much better than sunny ones, sun hurts me eyes, XD.)I like the weather right after rain, when the air is really sweet and refreshing.

oh, i'm the opposite of you. i loooove sunlight, so pretty! no offense to you, but i don't like how it smells after rain (maybe because i can only smell the concrete )
