Yes, you'll need Gmod. It's normally $10, but its currently on sale by the time I write this. However, to use it to its fullest, you'll need to buy Counter Strike Source, Half Life 2 (and its episodes, but they're somewhat optional), and Team Fortress 2. That will cost you a grand total of $35, not including Gmod and Half Life's episodes.
