A basic plot summary would be:
Two sisters are sold for a cure for their mother, who is dying, by their father(A fisherman). Then they get sold to opposite... brothels? Although they're Japanese... errr... I guess you'd say they're more liek living quarters for Geisha, she is a servant there. Another girl who lives there as a servant tells her that if she's good then she might be able to become a Geisha(Artist... pretty much an female escort who dances and tells poetry and stuff like that. NOT a concubine, although they can sleep with their clientelle if they wish.) But yeah, what ended up happening is an older Geisha there has it in for her because she has blue eyes(a genetic oddity, since blue eyes are impossible in an entirely Japanese society such as it is earlier on in the movie.) Anyways, she becomes a Geisha despite the older Geisha's ire for her. After screwing up and later... yeah, it's just a REALLY FREAKIN' GOOD movie, definitely worth looking for, if you can. Sorry... I just don't want to ruin the movie, and it's better than I make it sound... it's NOT wishy-washy, it's a rough portrayal of life.

XD Wow.... that is a long story, if you definitely recommend it, I'd go and watch it! ^^ It sounds very interesting at the least, I can't wait to check this movie out! ^^
Japenese you say? Wow.... blue eyes is indeed rare, I didn't even know it was possible! ^^ But then again, with genetics, anything is possible.
Wow... such a long yet interesting tale of life, I'm raring to go to check this movie out! ^^ Can't wait, I'll definitely check it out over at Block-Blusters.
Btw, have you seen Charlie Chaplin? Lmao, he's so funny! ^^ I just saw the "Circus" episode 2 days ago and it got me laughing so hard when he was on the tight-rope and being distracted by a group of wild monkeys, its more funny than said. ^^

Yeah, Chaplin's great. Master of BnW Slapstick, neh? I saw his one where he attends the party and gets hammered... or at least his friends are. I agree though, he's not that funny unless you watch him, it's all about the facial expression.

XD Yeah, I agree, his facial expressions are just so... funny! ^^ My mom related him to Jackie Chan because well... Jackie Chan learned most of his "funny" antics by using/examining Charlie Chaplins... or so my mom thinks. ^^
Really? I haven't seen that one yet... well, I watched some movies and I realized that his earlier ones were more.... well... boring crazy in a way, XD But I think the Circus one was extremely funny, XD ^^
