I had an idea of a tradition that could had started with the Dire wolves then passed to the HT. Bone carving. What it would be is that the Heavy timbers can use their teeth to carve stories or maybe records into the bones of prey animals or even wolves (like maybe a memorial) and use those to keep the lore and such.
