Heh, I don't know much about macro!
I mean, all I can say is get up close, get to eye level and don't be afraid to get unusual angles - lie on the ground, shoot from underneath - don't worry about what people in cars or your family might think; it's all about the photo!
&& no one is a bad photographer, they just lack practice and technique
