gaze forever
it's burning
out amongst the evening foliage
the fox, the feline
they frolic and play
in circles above the horizon
the eagle and hawk
eyes dart toward periphery until
they, out of sight, dive
falling, tearing down
the walls, whose intricate patterns never cease
to amaze the bystander
who forgot his skull
left hanging before
the back door.
