Just checked out your portfolio, which is replete with outstanding work; it's a tribute to your versatility as an artist that you can switch from serious, dark 'Soulsborne' fan-art, to cute n' fluffy animΓ© style pieces. I can do 'cute', but no matter how hard I try, I can't do 'serious', so you have my respect; I know it's not easy to balance the two, but you make it look easy.

No problem, and thank you! There are artists out there whose junk sketches look better than artwork I've spent many hours on, but that doesn't mean I'm not skilled; it's important to give yourself credit for what you have achieved. I think it's a common thing for skilled artists to be naturally humble, but there comes a moment in life where it's okay to say 'You know what, I am talented!'. The thing is, if one doesn't have respect for their own work, they can't expect others to. Amirite?

I admit that I personally am one of my more zealous critics, when it comes to art; sometimes I spend so much time on a piece of work, that it's ruined through over-exertion. I think the better one thinks their art is, the less likely it is that they'll continue to develop and improve their drawing style, so it could be argued that never being satisfied with what you have is a catalyst to become even better. Personally, I hope I never get to the point where I just shut down and say 'I'm content', because part of the fun of artistry is that journey and progression. But hey, I'm sure I don't have to tell you that - you're a talented illustrator.
