I said it because I'm Spanish, and it kind of sounds weird to me. Favorecer is making something better, I'd say 'añadir a favoritos' or something like that ^^ but it's okay, I don't want to sound rude or something :<

Well, not exactly making something better but like... If you're trying some clothes on and they look good on you, you say those clothes te favorecen. Also when you have to choose between two things(or more), the one that's the best for you is the one that te favorece, too. ^^
