Glad to hear you're doing fine! And oh that's no problem I totally understand. But yeah I haven't been up to too much here, really. Mostly just relaxing for this month and enjoying the spooky season before I see about getting a job probably. Also really excited for pokemon to come out though so I'm looking forward to playing that. What's been going on with you?

Not much. I've been really busy with work, school and life. To be honest, it's been quite stressful, but I'm over halfway through my semester. I hope things will calm down soon. I'm glad that you've been taking time to relax and enjoy the spooky season. I hope the job search goes well. I dunno if I'm going to play the new pokemon yet, but I think I will just to get an idea of what console pokemon will be like.

Aw man yeah I feel you on that school front, it does get very stressful. Cool that youre almost done with this semester though! Im sure things will calm a bit after that. What are you going to school for?
And thank you Im gonna try and apply for a daycare where my friend also works so I think it should go well. As for pokemon thats understandable, this one does seem to be one of the most controversial ones in awhile due to national dex and such which is a bummer. Im hoping it will be good though cuz a lot of the newer pokemon are cute and I like the concept of the little camp feature too. Theres always the next one to see how a console one will be though cuz 60 dollars is a lot to drop on something you arent sure of.

Yeah, I think it will calm down too. My schedule is just packed right now. I’m a psychology major in school and I’m planning on going into either therapy or counseling.
I hope the application process goes well. The whole dex situation is pretty controversial. It makes it seem like some Pokémon are prioritized over many others. The features do seem neat, but I’m not going to buy both games like I used to now that they’re 60 bucks. I hope the games end up turning out okay. I think I’m going to get Shield.

And thank you me too! And yeah it really does seem that way, especially with all the Gen 1 stuff that has been consistent throughout a bunch of games at this point.
They did say in future releases everyone will be back but it still sucks tbh. But yeah like.... I like Gen 1. But it is the only thing we see lately and I would love if they can focus on all the other pokemon a little more.... Im holding out for a Sinnoh remake personally because I think it would look great on switch. But yeah absolutely cant blame you for not dropping 120 bucks, I wouldnt either.
I think Im gonna go for Sword just because I follow the blue versions of Pokemon games most of the time when applicable. The legendaries dont really stick out to me this time for the decision personally.

Thanks! I’ve always wanted to go into something that would allow me to help or support others as it’s one of my core values. It may take me a while, though I’ve gotten a good start on my studies as I’m almost done with my associates.
And same here. Gen 4 was what I started with, and I’d love to see a Sinnoh Remake. I got Pokemon Yellow the other day and ended up playing through it. The series has come quite far, though I do feel like they rely on Kanto too much in a way? Like the region has come up and has been remade multiple times. I wish all the other Pokemon would be brought up as well. I saw they are making yet another form for Charizard (I think Charizard is fine, but pretty overrated at this point) with the gigantamax mechanic.
The legendaries don’t stand out to me as much either. They look the sameish in a way? One has a sword, and the other has a fluffy beard shield if I remember right. The titles are cool, but the legendaries aren’t as compelling to me.

No problem! Getting people the help they need is a very good cause to work for. And ah yeah that kinda stuff does really does take awhile. School really makes you work for it but it seems you're well on your way so I'm sure you'll be just fine if it's what you've got your heart in!
And ah yeah I started with Kanto with Firered, but Sinnoh is by far my favorite and I do hope gamefreak will deliver for it soon enough.... they've remade pretty much every other region before it at this point. And oh Yellow is a pretty good game! It is pretty crazy how far Pokemon has come from what it was. I do miss the pixel art sometimes but if the 3d models are done right I know all future games will very good graphic-wise. But oh yeah they absolutely rely on Kanto. It's very strange and I'm not sure why they do that, because honestly plenty of people are complaining about it. Let's Go Eevee and Pikachu were cute games though and I think experimental with how they're gonna handle future games (without the pokemon go mechanics). If they brought back follower pokemon like they did in those I would be very happy. And GOD yeah Charizard really is overrated... like if not different region pokemon why not the other gen 1 starters at least too? Bulbasaur and Squirtle are good lines in themselves. Although that gigantamax form does look pretty cool... kinda like godzilla vibes. And butterfree (which I was shocked to see a new form for but it's neat) looks like Mothra too so that might be intentional. Kinda a strange mechanic though and I dunno how to feel about it yet.
And YEAH they do look the same...and plain. Just like regular dogs tbh. The sword one is literally just holding a sword it its mouth which is kinda funny. The shield one at least incorporates a shield in its design instead of just holding one jfldskfj. I heard there was supposed to be a third one supposedly that the other two fight against according to lore? (That could be wrong though as it's hard to rely on info before the games' release.) Anyway though yeah I dunno about em. I'll see how the lore is for them. Maybe they look the same intentionally tbh.
Oh what starter do you think you're gonna go for though? I'm going for Sobble I think. Lil fella grew on me after awhile.

Sinnoh is my favorite region too. Though Gen 5 had my favorite story, Sinnoh holds a place in my heart. And yeah. I do like the pixels and sprites, though I hope the 3D models are done right. I have seen potential from Battle Revolution. I don’t know if they rely on it to draw back older fans of Kanto despite Kanto has been done in some way almost every generation (Gen 1, 2, 3, 4 and 7 (with let’s go) brought Kanto in).
I did like Let’s Go, though I didn’t like the capture mechanics and the lack of wild battles. I hope the one storage box in the bag is only present in let’s go. Follower Pokemon are great. I enjoy them being present and like having it. I loved it in Yellow, HG/SS and Let’s Go Pikachu.
I hope Venusaur and Blastoise get cool gigantamax forms too. Charizard’s form was cool, but it’s basically gotten three alternate forms at this point. I don’t know how I feel about the new mechanic yet, though I wish mega evolution wasn’t removed.
I dunno much about the lore for Sword and Shield. I haven’t really looked much into the games before they come out like I used to. I’m just worried about the quality of the game from what I’ve seen so far.
I’m gonna pick Grookey! I tend to traditionally pick grass types. Plus I really like it’s design and personality.

Oh yeah I feel you on that big time. And yeahhh god exactly though.... like I feel like Battle Revolution is still one of the best 3D modeled pokemon games there is to this day. Although I enjoy Pokemon Colosseum and Gale of Darkness’ models as well. Point is though they should be taking notes from that. If they can do it on the wii they can totally do it on the switch I am absolutely sure. And yeah.... which is strange in itself because like you said they keep doing it and I really dont think Kanto fans are leaving anyway. And even if some did theres so many more fans to fill in that gap.
And yeah I agree with you on that. I like how you can see the pokemon but I think it would be cool if both random encounters were there as well as seeing pokemon sometimes. And I absolutely do not agree with taking away the health bars and such when to comes to wild pokemon but thankfully they arent going back to much of the stuff happening in Lets Go. And yeah I like going manually to the PC as well. Feels more immersive I guess. I wonder how theyre gonna do lots of things in the future but only time will tell.
And oh yeah big agree on all that. Mega evolution being taken away was a strange move considering how many megas they made in the first place. Seems counter productive to replace it.
And ah totally understand I am also worried about the quality of how its all gonna be. I think the way gamefreak can solve all their problems is to just take longer to work on their games. It feels like they want to pump out as many games as possible but that sacrifices quality which is disappointing. Like Im sure no one would have any issue waiting an extra year to have all the pokemon in the game (as an example) or other features that we all like too. I hope everything still turns out aight though cuz I love pokemon.
And ah good choice tbh Grookey is super cute and seems like a fun little fella. Im super curious on how all the evolutions are gonna look. Seems like they arent gonna be released before the game comes out though.

Battle Revolution is well animated and there’s a lot of personality in the Pokemon. I feel like they should take notes from that so the animation doesn’t look as simplistic, considering they want to prioritize it from what I understand? And yeah. There’s a lot of fans to fill in the gap from different avenues. There’s the anime, the manga, the card game, etc. Plus there’s also stuff from the spinoffs like Pokemon Ranger or PMD. Kanto isn’t the big thing imo.
I did like how they implemented seeing the Pokemon in let’s go, but I do like the random encounters too. I did not like having to exclusively catch Pokemon to level up. And I remember there were SOME wild battles, but only with specific Pokemon like Snorlax. For me, going to the PC is important for balance as I don’t want to be able to draw out Pokemon from wherever I am and immediately change the party, if that makes sense. It bothered me in the Elite Four and in the Gyms more than anywhere else. I dunno what they’ll do with it, but I’d rather not be able to change my team unless I go to the Pokemon Center.
I’m still confused about the whole mega evolution thing and why they removed it. Z-moves not being there is one thing, since I feel like they made sense to be exclusive to Alola, but I can agree that taking away mega evolution for Dynamax feels really counter productive. They literally had mega evolution for two generations and let’s go, and it gave representation to other Pokemon who might not normally get it.
I don’t think the games will be as good of quality if they try to pump out as many games as possible in a short amount of time, especially considering that the Switch is a dual home and handheld console. I don’t think anyone would mind waiting an extra year so that quality wouldn’t be sacrificed for deadlines. I haven’t been this worried about a generation before.
I’m curious about the new evolutions too. I feel like Grookey’s evolution line may end up being a grass fighting, but I could be wrong. They haven’t talked much about the evolutions and what they’ll be like. I just hope everything will turn out okay at this point, as the features do look neat, but I’m worried that the game won’t be up to par simply due to the way the title is.
