I figure it's because you got tired of people not properly crediting you for the base

Well, I can't stop you from asking anyway xD!
So here my answer: the "crediting" issue is only one of the reasons. Actually, I was also tired of people doing five-minute-dolls when I spent weeks on them.
Furthermore, I'm more a pixel artist/base user than a base maker, the bases I made at that time were actually for personal use because my friend , who is a base maker, couldn't or wouldn't do them (if you look at her gallery, you will see that one of the 3 bases I published was actually a collaboration with her) I just decided to share them to "be nice". There may not be "good" reasons but that how it is ^__^"...
