I read your journal entry and I understand what you mean, comments are always welcomed and encouraged, an idea while you've got your art here anyway, go searching for groups. Even if you don't want to follow the group, getting your art out is the best way to have more people view it and in sequence have more people comment.

Thanks for your advice! Looking back, though, I also feel hypocritical, as I'm not very social and it's difficult for me to start conversations, which includes making comments of my own. From the length of this post, you can see it's a lot easier for me to respond to someone than to start the conversation myself.
That said, I need to break out of my shell and post my own comments BEFORE expecting other people to make comments too. The problem is figuring out something thoughtful to say besides "it's good", which I now realize may be another reason why no one else comments either.

Ya, I started to give more of my reaction like "*fell of my bed laughing* I love this!" but ya, more than not I end up finding myself favoring more than commenting. You just gotta find a way of making your words as creative as your art. ^^

It is actually easy now that deviant art updated. All you need to do now click the add media and ether search an emotion you want to express, click on show all official emoticon, or click on show all community emoticons (just a warning though there are a lot of community emots). Then click the emote you like and it will add it to your message
