Found your work, but I'd like to correct you on Krita on photomanipulation. In Krita, there is clone brush, filter brush, and G'MIC. There's also a way to burn or lighten using brush overlay. Finally, there is nondestructive editing. It can be used for photomanipulation. The selection problem is something that requires workaround which is tedious as hell.
